Arrohhh Animal Assisted Activities and Therapy

Arrohhh Animal Assisted Activities and Therapy We specialize in offering Animal Assisted Activities and Animal Assisted Therapies in the Corporate, School and personal arenas.

There is great value in using animals to process personal trauma as well as achieve specific goals. Strengthen the weak hands and make firm the feeble and tottering knees. (Isaiah 35:3)

The practice of Animal Assisted Activities and Therapy has gained popularity, and has become a recognized form of therapy throughout the world today. The South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG) endorses

the benefits of animal therapy with people suffering from Autism, PTSD and other conditions. Companion Animals create a point of contact between people in a non-threatening environment. Although the expression ‘unconditional love’ may sound like a cliche, it very aptly describes exactly what companion animals offer their humans. Animals are forgiving; non-judgmental and will accept all people without prejudice. Animals are also a reality check; as people focus their energy at that moment on the animals, taking their mind of their stress. All these factors contribute towards developing a report between the counselor and and client. Especially when that client is a child. To achieve the above objectives, the animals and humans do not have to spend many hard-working hours with each other. It has been found that just a half-hour session is sufficient to achieve a desired effect.

We need to make time to

We need to decompress and release all the stuff we hang onto day after day!

Our bodies are amazing! Our Nervous System especially.

Our nervous system is made up of a Sympathetic and Parasympathetic system.

When we experience an event that causes us to go into fight, flight, freeze, flop or friend mode - the 5 F's of survival - our sympathetic nervous systems kick into action to enable us to run faster, fight harder or think better than we normally would in order to survive.

However, we often get stuck in the sympathetic mode, where the body is focussed on survival only. This results in an overall imbalance in emotional, mental and physical wellbeing. Over time, this compounds resulting in emotional, mental and physical illness.

The opposite to survival mode is the rest and digest mode, this is when our parasympathetic system is operating. In this state, everything is in balance, our bodies are regenerating and our immune system functions are optimal allowing us to resist illness and disease more effectively.

Our lifestyle today is such that most of us are functioning in survival mode most - if not all - of the time rather than being in the rest and digest mode.

So what can we do about it?

Create S.P.A.C.E for yourself to

Healing Heart with Huskies has developed an amazing and very easy to practise system to help you decompress and flip back into the rest and digest mode.

There are numerous highly effective modalities out there that will easily and effectively achieve the above. However, our S.P.A.C.E. program is our favourite.

Our program is suitable for individual sessions and group sessions. Corporate packages are also available.
This can be done online or in person. In person however is more effective.

Mental Health seems like such a cliché, however it has never been more important to be mindful of, as it has become in these days.

Life is so full of stress and challenges, let alone actual traumatic experiences, and we have become so accustomed to them, like the frog in boiling water, that often times we do not realise that we need to until it is too late.

There are some really shocking stats on the internet if you just take five minutes to have a look.

But before we get stuck in the numbers...

Let me introduce you to our Healing Hearts with Huskies program where we make time to create S.P.A.C.E. for ourselves to .

So bring some back into your life and watch this S.P.A.C.E. for more details...

Some scary Stats:
