Any pregnancy that implants outside of the endometrium or the lining of the uterus is considered an ectopic pregnancy.

The sites where you can find an ectopic pregnancy are in your fallopian tubes, your ovaries, cervix, and even in your abdomen.

There are three main indicators of an ectopic pregnancy and that is a period of no menstruation followed by lower abdominal pain and pv bleeding.

To diagnose an ectopic pregnancy we do an ultrasound which generally shows an empty uterus and sometimes we can even see the pregnancy outside of the uterus.

A major complication of the ectopic pregnancy is the rupture of the pregnancy where you essentially start bleeding into your abdomen, this is a medical emergency and is treated surgically.
