In just 8 days, nominations officially open for the SADC Keturah Mental Health Awards 2026.

As we draw closer to this distinguished season of honour and recognition, we invite communities to begin identifying the individuals and organisations making a significant impact on mental health at grassroots level.

From homes to schools, churches to clinics, and communities to counselling spaces, chaplains to media mental health advocates, there are champions bringing healing, hope, and transformation every day. Many serve quietly, yet their impact is powerful and deeply needed.

The Keturah Mental Health Awards 2026 seeks to celebrate and honour these mental health champions whose work continues to restore lives, strengthen families, and uplift communities.

Nomination period: 01 May – 31 July 2026

Healing The Family Unit Launched!

Families are the foundation of society, and when families break, generations are affected. That is what inspired the launch of Healing The Family Unit: Meaningful & Intentional Conversations together with the book launch of His Story My Life and Living Beyond Betrayal.

Not every broken family looks broken on the outside. Many are carrying silent pain, unresolved conflict, emotional wounds, and a lack of safety within the home. Through this journey, I came to realize that healing cannot happen in isolation. True restoration requires family and community. It requires safe spaces where honest, meaningful, and intentional conversations can take place.

This is the heartbeat behind Healing The Family Unit — to create a conducive space that equips and empowers families to heal, grow, and break negative cycles. Through my two books, His Story My Life and Living Beyond Betrayal, I felt led to open up these courageous conversations, because although truth can be uncomfortable, it is often the very thing God uses to bring restoration, freedom, and transformation.

A heartfelt thank you to our panel discussion guests for adding such depth, wisdom, and grace to this important conversation: Ms. Nthabiseng Sethoga, author of My Anchor; Dr. Daniel Matematema from Zimbabwe, based in Botswana, author of From Truth to Legacy; Ps. Rox-Anne Maistry, author of Who Told You; Ps. Stanley Mkhwanazi from Eswatini, author of Redefine Your Worth; Ps. Melody Banda, originally from Zimbabwe and based in Botswana, author of Watch Out for Laban; Ms. Johannah Mapheto, author of Making Your Singlehood Season Count; Ms. Ntalo Mathebula, Speech Therapist and Parenting Expert; and Ps. Ronnie Naidoo, Counselor, Family Court Mediator, and Legal Practitioner.

These esteemed authors and speakers have written and ministered from places of real-life experience, and their messages carry the power to heal, challenge, and transform lives. The focus was not on a formal selection process, but on alignment — ensuring that each voice, each story, and each message contributed meaningfully to the purpose of the event. Together, we intentionally created a space that was not only impactful, but truly transformational.

May this be the beginning of many more conversations that restore homes, strengthen families, and transform generations.
