Suicidal thoughts can strike anyone at any time. They are more common than you might imagine. We observe Teen Su***de Prevention Month in February and the Micah Block Foundation, in collaboration with the Steve Biko Centre, organised the Mental Health and Su***de Prevention Debatecompetition as a way to spread knowledge and provide a platform for contrasting viewpoints on this epidemic. ***deawarness

Hey Guys! Discussing emotions and Su***de Prevention can be very sensitive, however it is vital to have these chats with our teens as they need a good support system. The lack of having a support system can contribute to Suicidal thoughts and feelings of helplessness and hopelessness. Throughout this week, we aim to create HOPE. Hope through actions. Hope through creating safe spaces for brave conversations.. Most importantly, we would like to remind our future generations that there are people around them that care and help is just a phone call away. ***depreventionweek

As we approach the release of the Matric Results, it’s normal for students to experience a mix of emotions – excitement, anticipation, nervousness, pressure, stress, worry, sleeplessness and anxiety. To help navigate the ups and downs, and to create a safe space for Matrics in the next few days, SADAG is hosting an Instagram Live on our Instagram Page to help discuss the rollercoaster of emotions, how to cope, what resources and support services are available if you feel overwhelmed and need to talk, and different options available after the results have come out.

The Live will be on Thursday, 18th January at 1 pm **. The panel of guests will share resources, self help tips, how to support a friend, and options available after the results - they will be answering your questions LIVE!
