Happy Workers' Day to the hardest workers we know. πŸ’›

The mothers who memorise medication schedules.
The fathers who learn therapy techniques at home.
The gogos who carry, comfort, and never complain.
The siblings who help and understand far beyond their years.

No salary slip.
No leave days.
Just love that shows up - every single day.

To every caregiver in our BTC family: thank you. You are the reason these little stories have beautiful beginnings. 🌟

Freedom Day reminds us that rights belong to everyone.

Every child. Without exception.

In South Africa, thousands of children with disabilities grow up without the support, inclusion, or trained care they are entitled to β€” not because the law doesn't protect them, but because awareness and skills are still out of reach for so many caregivers.

At Baby Therapy Centre, we are working to change that β€” one trained caregiver at a time.

Happy Freedom Day. πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦

If you believe every child deserves to be included, share this post.

What does R500 actually buy?

In most places, not much.

At Baby Therapy Centre, R500 sponsors one caregiver through a full module of our professional training programme.

One person. One session. Skills they carry into the life of a child with a disability - every single day.

Our 8-Module Caregiver Training Programme is facilitated by Ms Ruth Stubbs, one of South Africa's most experienced early childhood intervention trainers.

If your company is looking for a CSI initiative with direct, measurable impact - we'd love to talk about sponsoring a cohort.

Small investment. Real change. Children who get better care because your company made it possible.

Most people want to include a child with special needs.

They just don't know how.

And that uncertainty β€” that fear of doing the wrong thing β€” often leads to exclusion by accident.

So here are 5 simple ways to include a child with special needs in everyday life:

1. Follow their lead
Every child communicates β€” some with words, some with gestures, some with behaviour. Watch, listen, and respond to what they're showing you.

2. Adapt, don't exclude
Can't do the activity as planned? Modify it. A child in a wheelchair can still paint, play, and participate β€” the activity may just look different.

3. Talk to them directly
Don't speak about a child with a disability as if they aren't in the room. Address them. Make eye contact. Give them time to respond.

4. Normalise difference
Include disability in everyday conversation with children around you. Representation and language shape how the next generation sees the world.

5. Ask the caregiver
The people who know the child best are usually right there. Ask them what works. They will tell you.

Inclusion isn't a special skill. It's a decision made one moment at a time.

At Baby Therapy Centre, we train the caregivers who make those moments possible.

Have you ever watched someone care for a child with a disability and thought β€” they're trying so hard, but they don't know what to do?

That moment is exactly why we created our Caregiver Training Programme.

Because love is not enough on its own. Skills matter.

Our 8-module programme, facilitated by Ms Ruth Stubbs with nearly 30 years of experience, gives caregivers, teachers, and support staff the practical tools to make a real, daily difference in a child's life.

Topics include feeding, communication, seating & positioning, stimulation & play, children's rights, and more.

Sessions are capped at 10 people. Groups of 5+ pay just R500* per person. All materials included.

Tag someone who works with children with disabilities. They deserve to know this exists. πŸ’›
