Everytime i rap a year i get time to remember how long i have come in whatever "institution " i have found myself in especially as a Cultural diplomat...which has taken me from working with literature, music, film, dance, music, festivals: curating, project managing and speaking or writing for the same in different countries and large corporates.

Being a Gobela and healing families, homes and mothers, kids and even pets and removing izipoki and amanunu has been the weirdest, hardest and most intriguing.

Fighting and defending people and then being fought for helping people get their marriage or health or wombs back or homes back or confidence and joy the biggest challenge.

So one becomes constantly on defence mode. Always. Uhlezi ugadlwa for helping those who cant help themselves and being hated for not being gobeble and gullable...you need to always know and be firm on whom and whomst you are.

As i look back and look forward to the next two years in particular: i am glad i have never and will never lose my joy and peace. Never. Its my beauty. My wealth my power.

No amount of loss. Disrespect. Hate. Rejection can make me ugly or return pain for pain. My humility keeps growing me.

I am proud to be me. Always.
