We are excited to welcome Sheradin Williamson to the KliniDoc Newton Park practice as our new Diabetic Nurse Educator.

Sheradin is a qualified Diabetes Nurse Specialist, holding a nursing degree from the University of Port Elizabeth (UPE) and a postgraduate qualification in Diabetes.
With a deep passion for chronic illness management and mental health, Sheradin takes a patient-centred approach to care. She understands the unique challenges that individuals face when making lifestyle changes, and her mission is to meet each patient where they are on their diabetes journey.
Through compassionate support, education, and practical strategies, Sheradin empowers her patients to take control of their health and work toward sustainable, positive outcomes.

🎶 Outside of her professional role, Sheradin enjoys listening to music — with her favourite part of the weekend being Saturday mornings spent blasting playlists with her grandson.

Hello, Dr. Lukie Barnard here👩🏼‍⚕️

I could probably talk about this for hours. Concentration is influenced by so much more than just the ability to sit still and stay focused.

Learning is a dynamic state where children acquire new skills, receive guidance, and grow. It helps them develop the physical, mental, and emotional tools they need to function and flourish in the world around them. But in order to learn, children must first feel internally safe and secure.

They need structured, supportive environments where they are met with consistency, predictability, acceptance, and questions free of judgment.

A child’s ability to concentrate is deeply impacted by emotional well-being, sleep, nutrition, and routine. When any of these are out of balance, learning becomes significantly harder.

At our practice, when we conduct ADHD evaluations, we take all of these factors into account. We know that concentration challenges often have many underlying causes, and we aim to approach each child holistically.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be unpacking this topic in more detail.
Let’s work together to help our children thrive and reach their full potential.
