What is the Rotator Cuff? 🦾
A group of 4 muscles + tendons that stabilize your shoulder and allow lifting & rotation of your arm.
💥 Common Injuries:
- Tendinitis → inflammation from overuse
- Tears → partial or complete (common in athletes & older adults)
- Impingement → tendons get “pinched” under the shoulder blade
⚠️ Symptoms:
1. Pain at rest or at night, especially when lying on the shoulder
2. Weakness when lifting or rotating the arm
3. Clicking, catching, or limited mobility
🧑⚕️ How to Manage It:
✔️ Rest & activity modification – avoid painful overhead movements
✔️ Ice & pain management (for early stages)
✔️ Strengthening & mobility exercises – guided by a Biokineticist
✔️ Rehab & posture correction – to restore movement & prevent re-injury
💡 Key Tip: Early diagnosis & rehab = faster recovery + lower risk of long-term shoulder problems!
