Ever wondered what exactly an optometrist does? 👀✨

It’s so much more than just checking if you need glasses…

From assessing your vision and prescribing lenses, to detecting early signs of eye conditions like glaucoma, dry eye, and even systemic health issues — optometrists play a vital role in your overall health.

They help you see clearly, but also help keep your eyes healthy for the long run. 💙

Your eyes deserve more than just a quick check… they deserve care, attention, and expertise.

Have you had your eyes tested recently? 👇

Today’s patient came very prepared… she insisted on holding the star chart herself 😄🦷
(And yes… this is my little girl making her debut on the page 🤍)

What started as a little game has slowly become something bigger — a sense of pride, routine, and even excitement around brushing. No pressure, no fear… just small, happy habits built one star at a time 🌟

Because the truth is, healthy smiles don’t start in the dental chair… they start in moments like these 🤍

If brushing has been a bit of a challenge at home, sometimes all it takes is making it fun. Our star charts are a simple way to turn daily routines into something kids actually look forward to 💛

Pop in and grab one for your little one — we promise it makes a difference ✨

Astigmatism is a common and treatable condition caused by an irregular curvature of the eye 👁️

It affects the cornea — the clear outer layer that sits over the iris (the coloured part of your eye).

For clear, crisp vision, light needs to bend (refract) properly as it enters the eye ✨

In a normal eye, the cornea is evenly curved, allowing light to focus clearly and produce a sharp, defined image.

In an astigmatic eye, the cornea has an uneven shape. This causes light to bend irregularly, leading to blurred or distorted vision — sometimes even a shadowed or “double” effect 🌫️

Common symptoms include:
• Headaches, typically around your temples
• Blurred vision
• Eyestrain
• Light sensitivity
• Glare, especially when driving at night.

Do you have astigmatism? 👀

Sinus and chest conditions are more connected than most realise.
As a physiotherapist, I support the body through airway clearance, breathing patterns, and restoring function.
As a health coach, I take it a step further — looking at the underlying lifestyle factors such as nutrition, stress, and daily habits that contribute to recurring congestion and inflammation.
Because it’s not just about clearing symptoms…
it’s about preventing them.
✨ A more holistic approach to breathing, healing, and long-term wellbeing.

Sinus pressure or toothache… or both? 👀

During allergy season, inflamed sinuses can put pressure on the roots of your upper teeth — which can sometimes feel exactly like a toothache. That’s why many people aren’t sure whether the problem is their teeth… or their sinuses.

If the pain feels dull, spreads across a few teeth, or gets worse when you bend forward, your sinuses might be the real culprit.

But if you’re unsure, it’s always best to have it checked. A quick exam can help rule out a dental cause and give you peace of mind.

When in doubt — rather check it out. 🦷

If breathing is something you’re noticing… it’s something worth paying attention to.

Shortness of breath, persistent coughs, chest congestion, or fatigue with simple activities can sometimes be signs of underlying respiratory conditions — and many people don’t realise that physiotherapy can play a powerful role in managing them.

In this new 8-part series, our physiotherapist will be unpacking common respiratory disorders and explaining how targeted physiotherapy techniques can help improve breathing, clear the lungs, and support better daily function.

From breathing retraining and airway clearance to rehabilitation for chronic lung conditions, we’ll explore practical ways physiotherapy supports respiratory health.

🫁 Follow along over the coming weeks as we break down each condition and share helpful insights to help you breathe easier.
