What can cause Stomach Ulcers?
An ulcer is formed when the mucus layer protecting the tissues of the body against digestive juices (acids) breaks down or wears out.
This breakdown maybe as a result of
1. Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a bacteria that
causes stomach infections or inflammation.
2. Frequent use of Aspirin and other nonsteroidal
anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS)
These can break down the stomach's defence
against the acid it produces to digest food,
allowing the stomach lining to become
damaged and an ulcer to form.
