Is milk really good for you? Science says NO...

A large observational cohort study[1] in Sweden found that women consuming more than 3 glasses of milk a day had almost twice the mortality over 20 years compared to those women consuming less than one glass a day. In addition, the high milk-drinkers did not have improved bone health. In fact, they had more fractures, particularly hip fractures.

Interestingly, the study also found that fermented milk products (cheese and yogurt) significantly decreased mortality and fractures among these women. For each serving of these fermented dairy products, the rate of mortality and hip fractures was reduced by 10-15%. The researchers pin the negative effects of liquid milk on D-galactose, a breakdown product of lactose that has been shown to be pro-inflammatory. Milk has much more D-galactose than does cheese or yogurt

Creamy Oats Smoothie

¼ cup rolled oats or steel-cut oats

1 chopped banana frozen

½ cup unsweetened almond milk

1 Tbs plain peanut butter

¼ tsp salt

½ tsp cinnamon

¼ tsp vanilla powder

5 dates, soaked

Method:

Process oats in food processor.Ā 

Add the rest of the ingredients and blend

Add 1 ice cube at the end, if desired.

Super chuffed with myself! I made šŸ’Æ fat-free protein muffins using lentils and veggies...

Recovering food addicts should stay away from carbs so this is perfect. And filling.

Soak red lentils in water for 3 hours then process to a liquid using a little water to help it along. Add a handful of veggies. I used mushroom, grated carrot, tomato and onion. Add 1 TBS nutritional yeast and spices.

Place in muffin tray and bake till golden brown. I used an air fryer and silicone cups.

I agree! I am still fighting overeating on the whole (when I eat cooked food), but one of the best things to do is eat a huge amount of fruit each day.

These are my current go-to salads so that I can make sure I get enough raw food in my daily diet.

I simply add them to meals.

How to make them:

1. Cabbage & Mayo: shred cabbage finely and toss in mayo
2. Coconut Carrot: shred carrots, add a handful of chopped apricots and dash on some coconut cream
3. Sweet 'n Sour Cucumber: use a food processor to grate cucumber (about half a cucumber). Add this to equal parts cooled boiled water and apple cider vinegar, a dash of garlic, 1/2 tsp dried dill, salt and pepper and sweetener (I use healthy fructose)
4. Fermented cabbage is not something I like but I have 1 TBS per day to replace good gut bacteria

Power packed smoothie. Blend together 1 cup vegan milk, 1/2 frozen banana, 2 Tbs blueberries, juice of 1 small orange, 1 big strawberry, 1/2 an Avo, 3 medjools, 1/4 handful spinach, 1 TBS vegan protein powder, 1 TBS cacao powder.

So, what does your p**p type say?

Here are a few examples, without going into too much detail:

Type 1: Typical for post-antibiotic treatments and for people attempting fiber-free (low-carb) diets.

Type 2: To attain this form, the stools must be in the colon for at least several weeks instead of the normal 72 hours. That means you are eating the wrong stuff because it's not digesting properly.

Type 3: Irritable bowel syndrome is likely.

Type 4: This form is normal for someone defecating once daily.

Type 5: Ideal and shows the person is p**ping regularly as should be the case (about 3 times daily).

Type 6: The person may have a slightly hyperactive colon or has a hypersensitive personality prone to stress, or eats too many spices, drinks water with a high mineral content, or the use of osmotic (mineral salts) laxatives.

Type 7: This is diarrhea.

Soak 1 cup red lentils in water for 3 hours. Blend with some water. Heat pan. Pour lentil mix in. Cook for a minute each side.

Use as bread.

Not the prettiest photo, but one of the prettiest tastes ever!

This is a very yummy combination: vegan curry with coleslaw and homemade sweet and sour cucumbers.

Here's how to make everything:

Fry an onion and garlic and caraway seeds.
Add veggies (a good combination is sweet potato, carrots, butternut, green beans and sweet corn).
Add a tomato and about 1 tbs tomato paste.
Add about 1/2 cup coconut cream and 4 finely cut dried peach.
Now spice it up with salt, curry powder, smoked paprika, Braggs liquid aminos, cinnamon, cumin powder.
Finally add chickpeas.
Simmer and serve.

Coleslaw: finely cut cabbage and grate carrots. Add vegan mayo.

I've always needed to eat fruit...when you eat a variety of fresh fruit every day, it stops sweet cravings and builds your immune system as fruit contains a plethora of nutrients your body needs.

Often you will crave sweet things because your body is trying to tell you it needs you to eat fruit!
