Coffee and Reflection Sunday Finds:

My sister and I went to the yesterday and we loved it! We had been discussing just how much we need to try new experiences like these. Including watching a live theatre production and maybe opera.

Because I enjoy the concert so much, I said; ‘We are definitely trying an opera show next.’ She agrees nodding her head vigorously.

When I arrived home from the concert by , for whatever reason, I started searching for Opera shows near me and lo and behold, there was one happening today at 15:00. A tribute to Andre Bocelli and Josh Groban. I immediately think, ‘I didn’t mean THAT quick!’

Noticing the irony of it, I screenshot and send to my sister laughing. It felt like a ‘be careful what you wish for’ type of situation. You know?, ‘You just might get it’ 😂. And she responds, ‘it’s too soon, at this rate, we won’t have time to work on our fitness goals’. (something we were talking about, too long to give you context) And I fully agree.

Then a sad thought hit me. ‘How often have we wanted and waited for opportunities that found us ill-prepared.’

And of course, my brain went a little religious on me; ‘How many times have you asked God to open doors and then when He says ‘Here, go in’ we take a few steps back because we think we are not ready?’

Moral of the story is; STAY READY!
So your life won’t pass you by 🌸

Coffee and Reflection Sunday Finds:

Do you believe that the meaning of your name describes you?

When I was growing up, there was so much emphasis on the meaning of your name, who gave it to you and why. The answers to which are said to provide some clarity about your life and possibly your purpose.

With that background, it’s interesting to note that language can be subjective, words which originally meant something negative have changed meaning. So I’m here wondering if what matters is the meaning we attach to the words or their literal meaning.

I’m inclined to go with the meaning we attach, but what happens if the context changed? If your friends called you a b #*, would you respond the same way if a stranger did a similar thing?

I suppose not. So then I ask, do you pay attention to what you call yourself?

Today I just wanna share a Latin phrase that I heard in a movie.

‘Memento Homo’

Which means, remember, you are only human. (If the sources are correct)

I just thought it was a cool way to be reminded that after all, we are just human. We might not have it all figured out, but we can be kinder to ourselves ❤️

Coffee and reflection Sunday finds:

I was in a session the other day with a client who was wearing (what I assume was) clear diamond earrings. When she spoke, she would tilt her head slightly right and then left. As the session progressed, I noticed that when she turned my direction, which was to her left, the earring on her left ear would sparkle a yellow hue. A star 🌟 twinkle type of sparkle.

Wanting to stay in the session of course, I tried to ignore it, but I wondered, because her earrings were of clear diamonds. It happened a couple more times after that. Then my brain reminded me that I was wearing a citrine stone necklace. The entire time her earring was reflecting to me my own jewellery! 🙄

After that session, I kept thinking, there must be wisdom to this. I was so captivated by the whole event.

Well, today I realised that there is wisdom to it after all.
The world around us reflects us, it mirrors us. We experience and see it from our own point of view. In turn, it returns to us what we give. Sometimes these ‘returns’ shock us because we are unaware of ourselves and our own influence. The shock could be positive or negative. The awareness of yourself, your input, your influence, etc, will lessen the shock, and give you some sense of control.

If nothing else, self awareness will turn down the noise in your head. For me, I didn’t have to keep wondering where that yellow sparkle was coming from. And I could focus more on the session.

Mental Heath Errands is celebrating 🎉
Today marks one full year since the launch and we just want to share some lessons learned along the way. If you are venturing into your own business, you might wanna take note:

- Networking will get you far. God puts people in place to journey with you and direct you. Don’t take people for granted

- You can’t retain every client. There are people you are ment to serve. Don’t take this personally.

- Re-invest in that business. Don’t eat the entire profit.

- Follow your instincts, your soul knows the way!

- Rest, force it if you have to, you are no good to anyone when you are burnt out.

- Re-brand if you have to. Keep reevaluating your plans. Chuck out what doesn’t work, improve on what does.

- Comparison will steal your joy and focus on how far you’ve come and can go. Track only your progress, you’ll see just how great you are doing

- Seek counsel. You don’t know it all. Seek wisdom to those who’ve traveled before you.

- Get help, alone you can only go so far. Don’t be afraid to get help, work on that fear of relinquishing control.

- Keep learning. Adapt, adjust, and flourish.

Enjoy the journey! You are growing! It’s exciting!

Speaking of community this launch was made great by many people including Mamashu Mabowa who did my make up, Ntsako Siwelane catering, Nkosi Arrnino Andzani errands, Reason Siwelane MC and Mashudu Rathogwa who offered his oven 😂

There were plenty of encouraging words that I wish got captured, but alas, there are always bumps in the road!

To everyone who was at the launch, I’d like to report that, it’s going well! God is Faithful! Thank you for your blessing and favour!

My dad once said, ‘don’t lend someone an amount of money that you are not willing to give. That way, if they pay back, it’s great, and if they don’t, you still good.’

…so I’m wondering, what if we applied the same principle to everything; time, energy, support, body, mind, etc.
