I had a stressful time last year with just too much to deal with in life. This had a great effect on my health. It just comes to show you that stress is NOT good for Celiacs. If you have extra stressful times in your life, you HAVE to make sure that you look after yourself with extra caution - make sure that you sleep ENOUGH, you eat CORRECTLY (meaning all the correct nutrition!) & REGULARLY, do moderate exercise to get rid of the stress in your muscles & organs, use warm packs on your muscles or take a warm shower or bath, USE your supplements if your body depends on it (those with absorption issues!) & don't be ashamed to go to a doctor for help! DON'T BE PART OF THE STORM- keep your head out, stay positive, smile, stay among loving friends & family, tell yourself this will pass & life will get better! Learn how to dance in the rain...TALK if you need to, make music if you can, sit in silence if it has a positive effect for you, wright a book or an article for yourself - add good things to your life, work on/use your talents!!! Start a herb, vegetable, berry and fruit garden for yourself! - do something positive...get more organized, teach something, enjoy life...then you could look back afterwards and say, I've tried, but more importantly, I did not waste precious time...while feeling sad for loosing a loved one I did something good too to remember, while for instance I did not have a work, I fixed stuff at home, helped a neighbor, spent more time with loved ones, started that project I always wanted to do, etc...felt sick for example, red a book to better my life or educate me more in a direction that I was interested, watch comedies & hear yourself laugh out loud...USE THE TIME GOOD!!!

Make your own chutney before the specific fruit season ends! Peach chutney, pear chutney, apricot chutney, mango chutney, etc. Remember that vinegar could also contain gluten, some apple vinegars too! I don't use vinegar as a rule, but I do use Safari's WHITE grape vinegar only if I have too. (Their ingredients are grape vinegar & sulphur dioxide with a 5% acidity.Check the label!) there are other vinegars available on the market. Fresh lemon juice is better! (Sulphur dioxide could destroy the good bacteria in your small intestines, so do use sparingly.) OR bottle and save the fruit for later! GFSA greetings!

Packaged curry from the east are not always pure as we used to buy them at the shops! Please read on the back as gluten can be used as a filler, to enhance taste and/or as a preservative in spices. For those with Celiacs, remember the contamination issue: if a provider/producer have more than one product and some of their products do contain gluten, you will have to phone them to make sure that their ''gluten free'' marked product started and ended in gluten free circumstances! With no gluten contamination, because of hidden ingredients and/or sharing spaces with other gluten products, for example at a packaging area.

Curry for the winter - get ready, start preparations! Carthright curry used to say ''gluten free'', but not any more!!! Read the labels of your food EVERY TIME, they could change without you knowing! Make your own perfect curry from your own curry tree in the back yard (could also be potted, need full sun, grows more or less 2m high, better to buy a tree) ! It is not a plant, it is a tree with ''large'' leaves. The leaves are available throughout the year & could be used straight from the tree ! Combine with for example: onion, fresh ginger, garlic, tomato & chilli to taste.

One of my favorite plants is ROSE GERANIUMS (Pelargonium graveolens) ! Now is the time that you visit your friends and family to search who has a plant, ask them for a small piece and plant it directly in a sunny or semi-shade position. It grows easy in well drained soil. The small light purplepink flowers are edible and could be added to your salads or desserts. The rose flavoured leaves can be used to flavour your drinks! It goes nice with vanilla or ginger flavoured foods. Teach the children to rub their fingers on the plant's leaves and let them smell the rose flavour! You will see a smile! Enjoy! (There are many kinds of geraniums, if you are not sure, check it out at your nearest nursery!) GFSA Greetings!

Snacks that are quick and which carries me through:
1. A thin apple & gf cheese slice OR any fruit & gf cheese
2. Plain gf yogurt with pure honey & nuts
3. A small ripe (not green, nor over ripe) banana sprinkled with cinnamon and/or honey (for the sweet tooth!)
4. Buy a berry tree for your garden & eat from the tree. We have blue berries! (Do your homework, you can grow them in a pot!)
