ABOUT US

XYLOMED PHARMACEUTICALS (PTY) LTD (hereinafter referred to as “XYLOMED”) is a privately owned international pharmaceutical company with operations on the AfricanContinent (namely in the SADC region, COMESA region), Europe(with a registered office in the United Kingdom, and a presence in Germany & France in process) and the Americas (with an office in Dallas, Texas USA) and we are also in the process of registering offices in Australia and Asia. At present XYLOMED is cementing its presence in Africa with over 1000 employees spread across a number of legal entities already established in a number of African countries namely South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique, DRC, Madagascar and Malawi. XYLOMED has ambitions of establishing business in Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Morocco and Algeria. We also plan to further expand our presence on the continent to every country on the African continent with particular focus on the important economic regions of ECOWAS, AEC and EAC.

As an innovative healthcare company in Africa, XYLOMED believes that we have a major role to play in bridging the “Healthcare Divide of Africa” and as such, ensure the delivery of life saving pharmaceutical products to all Africans and this we believe to be an important Basic Human Right that should be enshrined in the Bill of Rights of all African countries.

The challenge is to roll out world class medicines that are efficacious and are manufactured under the best clinical standards in highly advanced pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities and infrastructure that meet the highest world standards and are thus accredited by the World Health Organization (WHO), the USA Federal Drug Agency (FDA), the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and licensed by RSA’s Medicines Control Council (MCC). The manufacturing of these medicines must take into account the environment in which we do business and as such, the process and delivery of these medicines must be environmentally friendly. We believe that unless these medicines can reach their intended recipients, they will remain useless (XYLOMED’s pay off slogan speaks to this - “Without the right people, it is just a bottle”) and therefore it will be critical to establish effective safe delivery networks, reliable delivery routes and effective delivery mechanisms of these medicines to all of Africa’s vast rural citizens as well as its urban residence. XYLOMED hopes that the provisioning of this excellent pharmaceutical manufacturing infrastructure on the continent will allow the African Continent to leapfrog into the new century by bypassing the unnecessarily long adoption cycle of medicines. The XYLOMED pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities should give Africa as a whole, effective and efficient long-term medicine delivery solutions that work now but also have the capacity to handle future population growth, evolving disease profiles and future economic & social developments.
