A FEW WORDS ABOUT DR HANS JACOBS
Dr. Jacobs attended the Stellenbosch University where he graduated in 2007 with a MBChB. He then attended the University of Pretoria for his orthopaedic surgery specialist training and qualified in 2016 with a MMed from the University of Pretoria and FC Orth from the College of Medicine of South Africa. In 2017 he went to Sydney, Australia to do a fellowship in hip and knee reconstructive surgery.
He is currently a senior lecturer at the University of Pretoria and a consultant in Arthroplasty and Sports Medicine at Steve Biko Academic Hospital and has a private practice at the Life Healthcare Faerie Glen Spinal and Orthopaedic Centre of Excellence.
Dr. Jacobs specializes amongst other in; minimally invasive hip replacements through the anterior approach (AMIS), kinematically aligned total knee replacements (KA TKR or KATKA) as well as mobile bearing (Oxford) unicompartmental knee replacements.
Conservative management of joint pain and joint preservation surgery, is also a part of orthopaedics he is passionate about. He firmly believes joint replacement surgery should only be done when all other avenues have been exhausted.
Apart from his passion for orthopaedics he loves overlanding through Africa, camping, hunting, fishing and golfing with his friends and family.
