We’ve launched our brand-new training facilities in Roodepoort – and kicked things off with an incredible first session!

Our training, “The 101 of Basic Wheelchair Seating in Children with Disabilities,” gave therapists from sourounding schools the chance to deepen their knowledge of paediatric wheelchair seating.

From comfort and posture to function and well-being, proper wheelchair seating can change a child’s life and we’re proud to play a part in that journey!

Visit us at 112 Golf Club Terrace (Corner Ontdekkers), Florida Park, Roodepoort. We’re just getting started and more training sessions coming soon!

Farewell to an extraordinary team member💙

Yesterday, we celebrated and said goodbye to someone who has made an unforgettable impact - Martha Spruit.

Throughout her career with us, Martha has been the heartbeat of many projects, a mentor to many, and a fierce advocate for the underdog. Her quiet strength, loyalty, and unwavering dedication have helped shape the culture of our workplace.

Though we're sad to see her go, we are incredibly grateful for the legacy she leaves behind. Thank you, Martha, for your invaluable contributions - you've truly made a difference!

Need a mid-day energy lift?

Try 5-15 minutes, more if you’re up for it, of gentle seated stretching or resistance band work. Perfect for upper limb strength and maintenance to assist with self-propelling!

➡️ Seated Torso Twist:
Sit tall with your feet flat and hands resting on your lap.
Slowly rotate your upper body to the right, placing your left hand on your right thigh for support.
Hold the stretch for 10–15 seconds while breathing deeply.
Return to centre and repeat on the other side.
Reps: 3–5 times per side

➡️ Overhead Reach Stretch:
Sit up straight with your back away from the backrest.
Raise one arm overhead (as far as comfortable).
Reach up and slightly over to the opposite side to stretch the side body.
Hold for 10 seconds and slowly return.
Repeat with the other arm.
Reps: 3 times each side

➡️ Resistance Band Arm Curls:
Place a resistance band under one foot or attach it to the chair frame.
Hold the other end in your hand and curl your arm toward your shoulder, keeping your elbow close to your side.
Slowly lower the hand back down with control.
Reps: 10–15 per arm & Sets: 2–3

➡️ Shoulder Rolls:
Sit tall with relaxed arms at your sides or on your lap.
Slowly roll your shoulders forward in a circular motion.
After 5–10 seconds, reverse and roll shoulders backward.
Reps: 10 forward, 10 backward�Tip: Breathe in as you roll up, and exhale as you roll down.

➡️ Seated Knee Lifts or Marching:
Sit upright with feet on footrests or flat on the ground.
Slowly lift one knee up toward your chest as high as possible.
Lower it with control and repeat with the other leg.
Reps: 10–15 per leg�Sets: 2�
Optional: Add light ankle weights for a challenge

Give these a try and let us know how they went!

Always consult with a medical professional or physiotherapist before beginning any new exercise routine. Move slowly and within your comfort zone. If any movement causes pain or dizziness, stop immediately.

Evasen Moodley had been using the same wheelchair for over 15 years - a birthday gift from when he turned 21.

When he came in for a simple replacement quote, we discovered he was sitting incorrectly, and his old chair was worsening his condition. After a full seating assessment, we advocated for the right equipment full medical aid support.

Today, thanks to a high-end wheelchair, proper back and pressure relief support, and access to rehab and ongoing medical care, Evasen is not just seated better - he's living better!
