Back in 2018 in the middle of my health crisis, I found Dr Chatterjee's new podcast and read his first book: The Four Pillar Plan. Learning about Lifestyle Medicine sparked a passion for health and wellness.

Fast forward to 2026: I’ve been selected to be part of the first global pilot group of just 25 health coaches completing the Prescribing Lifestyle Medicine (PLM) course delivered by my alma mater: The Health Coaches Academy in partnership with Practice Unbound, co-founded by Dr Chatterjee and Dr Ayan Panja (another incredible GP). This advanced certification will allow me to support my clients on an even deeper level.

It feels surreal and exciting, and it starts today!

Please don’t let comparison steal from you today ♥️

Lest we forget: social media is a curated highlight reel - it’s not real life. Is YOUR feed showing the whole picture? Mine certainly isn’t!

You have your own unique journey and timeline ⭐️
You can do this.

A year after recovering from chronic pain, I was dealing with a temporary health issue + said to my doctor: “So after this, I’ll finally be totally healthy, right?” She laughed. “You can’t say that. We never arrive at perfect health. It’s a constant journey.”

She’s right. Nobody is in perfect health all the time. But my quality of life is SO much better than it used to be, and that is a big deal.

I have a lot going on right now. Two jobs, studying again (more on that soon), and buying a house. And that’s only the top-level stuff.

This morning I woke up and: Hello, anxiety, my old friend. It’s been a while.

So what did I do about it?
1. Had a bit of a meltdown (totally allowed + needed)
2. Ate a high-protein breakfast outside
3. Went for a fast-paced walk with a new friend (it is a holiday here in SA)

This caused a massive shift in mood.

That’s what I love about health and wellness: small changes compound over time and make such a difference. And I’m very grateful I get to help people with this for a living.

Happy Freedom Day, if you’re in SA ♥️🇿🇦

This week I spoke with a new client who is at the very beginning of her recovery. It took me back to my earlier days, when I first allowed myself to feel hopeful, and had started watching / listening to testimonials of people who were now healthy again.

For a long time, one thought kept coming up:
“But what if I’m the exception?”

I believed these mind/body methods worked for other people, but not necessarily for me. I was doing everything right, but I still had relapses.

Here’s what I know now: everyone’s timeline is different. Some people read a book and boom - they’re cured (we hate those people… kidding). But most of us have more of an upward spiral-shaped journey. That’s not failure! It’s just how this usually works.

If you’re in the thick of it right now… keep going. Because once you start seeing real progress, it shifts something deep in your subconscious. The setbacks don’t disappear, but they stop feeling like the end. And they get more and more rare.

You are doing this. And you are worth looking after.

Believe it or not – this is one of the themes I explore with clients recovering from chronic pain or burnout.

Because the truth is: so many of us get up every day with absolutely nothing to look forward to. And most people don’t even realise it – until someone asks.

Your body needs more than just rest and remedies. It needs a reason to heal. Anticipation, hope and joy are not luxuries. They are biological signals that tell your body it is safe to recover. So is there something you could plan in the not-too-distant future that excites you, even just a little bit?

Don’t underestimate what this one simple step could do for your health and wellbeing. You might be surprised 😊

The online world is very loud right now. And I don’t think it’s calming down anytime soon.

Where is your quiet, inviting and trustworthy place? Things may feel out of control, but we can still turn off this noise - even just for a little while.

Just one disruptive action. Put the phone down, slam the laptop, head out the door for a non-negotiable break. Rest is not optional.

May you also find your pocket of peace today ♥️

It still gets me.

The other day I was sitting in my car before a client session and it hit me again: I can’t believe I’m not in pain anymore.

Nearly ten years of chronic pain… gone.

I remember the hopelessness. The diagnosis. The meds. I remember slowly accepting recovery stories and holding onto them, praying that one day: that would be ME. It didn’t seem possible.

And now, here we are.

This is why I’m so compelled to help others with these kinds of conditions. I know what it’s like because I’ve lived it.

If you are suffering with unexplained chronic symptoms (back or shoulder pain, fibromyalgia, migraines or fatigue to name a few) and you’re reading this, chances are you’ve already started on a path toward recovery.

Keep going.

On this account, I share tools, insights and approaches that helped me get my life back. My hope is that they help you too.

There is no medicine like hope,
no incentive so great
and no tonic so powerful
as expectation of something better tomorrow.
- Orison Swett Marden

In my experience, hope is often the first medicine.

When someone begins to believe that change is possible, everything starts to shift.

Helping people rediscover that hope is a foundational part of the work I do.

How is your Hope meter today?

Today I self-prescribed the outdoors for my overprescribed brain and schedule. Phone off for an hour. This free health boost called nature never ceases to amaze me.
