A reminder of the Zoom meeting tonight at 8pm. NHI - Let's get informed Meeting ID: 898 3634 7539

Dr Richard Friedland - CEO of Netcare - will start the meeting with a short update on the COVID-19 statistics and trends around the country.

Dr Nicholas Crisp - NHI Consultant of the DOH - will present the vision and plan for the NHI in relation to independent doctors.

He has presented at similar webinars and will hopefully answer most of the doctors' questions in my conversation with him, but there should be time for a few questions at the end (which you are welcome to ask live with your camera on, since the format is a Zoom meeting - not a webinar).

We will aim to conclude between 9:15pm and 9:30pm.

Feel free to circulate the reminder to doctors who may be interested. As of noon today, there 750 doctors registered and there is still capacity for another 250. (It will be streamed to Youtube as well)

Saw this on another page and thought it was rather good:

A client asked me how much it cost to do a particular job.
I replied: “R15,000.”
He said to me: “For this job? That's so much!”
I asked, "How much did you think it would cost you?"
“At most R5,000 or free, it's a quick job.”
“For R5,000 I invite you to do it yourself.”
“It's just that I don't know how to do it.”
“For R5,000 I will teach you, so in addition to saving you R10,000, you will have the knowledge for the next time you need it.”
It felt right and he accepted.
"I will let you know what you will need to get started: you need tools: Ladder, rollers, roller trays, brushes, paint pots, drop sheets, scrapers, filler, sandpaper etc…”
"But I don't have all these tools and I don't want to buy all of this for just one job.”
“Well, then for R5,000 more I can rent you all the necessary tools,so you can do it. Plus, you need to buy all paint and materials you need for the job.”
“Okay,” he tells me. “Agreed! Friday I'll wait for you to come and show me how to do it.”
“I can't on Friday, I am busy with my work at the moment.”
“Can you do it today?”
“No, today I don't have time to teach you and lend you my tools. I can do it on Saturday. But you have to be very punctual because I have multiple jobs to go to. I'll be waiting for you Saturday morning at 7 am to start the work.”
“Oops, no ... Buying these things takes too much time and more money. You know? It's too early. I'd better give you the R15,000 I've already done my math and it will cost me more than that.”

Remember: You don't get paid just to do a job ... clients are paying for your: Knowledge, experience, training / education, equipment, time, dedication, attention to detail and the hard costs that go along with running a small business.
Nobody should denigrate anyone's work by putting the price to it that they want, or by belittling it.

Recognition to the rightful owner👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
