Kynoch Fertilizer is a leading importer, blender and retailer of a complete range of granular, liquid and speciality fertilizers in Southern Africa (including South Africa, Namibia, Mozambique, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana and the DRC). Kynoch operates warehouses as well as import and blending facilities in all the major ports in the Southern Africa Region and a number of inland locations. Kynoch is the exclusive distributor of globally proven Agrotain® nitrogen stabilisers supplied by Koch Industries as well as a select range of Yara International premium products. To complete the full range of plant nutrition requirements, other fertilizer raw materials, products and enhancers are sourced locally and internationally. The Kynoch brand has been part of agriculture in Southern Africa for more than 100 years. During 2014 Kynoch became a member of Export Trading Group (ETG), a multinational operating in Africa for more than 30 years.

Investing in Lesotho's Farmers

Kynoch, together with our agronomists, recently attended two farmers’ days in Lesotho—Mohale’s Hoek and Maseru.

Invited by Honourable Thabo Mofosi, Minister of Agriculture, we trained farmers on proper soil preparation, planter calibration, and maize planting techniques to reduce risks during the growing season.

We also explained the importance of using fertilizers matched to crop and soil type to improve plant nutrition, yields, and income.

It was a fantastic opportunity to interact with farmers, answer their questions, and support productive, sustainable maize production.

We recently hosted a farmer breakfast in Senekal, where around 40 farmers joined us for an informative morning. Dr L. Rothmann shared insights on managing Sclerotinia in sunflower and soybean crops.

A Kynoch agriculturalist presented on KynoPlus Pro®, a representative from AFGRI discussed crop insurance, and shared valuable data on sunflower production. Attendees enjoyed a hearty breakfast and found the sessions highly practical for their farms.
