Right after emergence, seedlings are at their most vulnerable—but the signs of stress often don’t show until it’s too late to fix. That’s why early nutrition matters.

KynoPop® is a water-soluble fertilizer specially formulated for this stage. It’s rich in chelated micronutrients like Zinc and Copper which:

✅ Helps to build strong root systems
✅ Boost photosynthesis and energy production
✅ Improve resistance to cold, wet, and nutrient-poor early-season conditions

A single application of KynoPop® shortly after emergence can set your entire crop up for healthier growth and higher yield potential.

It’s not just fertilizer—it’s seedling insurance.

Timing is everything when it comes to fertiliser application.

To achieve optimal crop growth and maximum nutrient uptake, it’s essential to apply fertilisers at the right stages of crop development. Understanding the timing of fertiliser applications can make all the difference in maximising efficiency, boosting yields, and reducing waste.

Here’s a quick guide to fertiliser timing:

Nitrogen: Best applied during the vegetative growth stage, when plants need it most for healthy leaf development. It encourages robust growth, allowing your crops to establish a strong foundation.

Phosphorus: Applied during the reproductive growth stage to support flowering and fruiting. Phosphorus helps with root development and energy transfer, promoting successful fruit and seed formation.

By tailoring your fertiliser applications to the growth stages of your crops, you ensure the nutrients are absorbed when they’re needed most — reducing waste and improving the overall efficiency of your fertilisation programme.

At Kynoch Fertilizer, we provide expert advice on the best fertiliser timing for your crops, so you can grow smarter, not harder.

Need expert advice on fertiliser application timing? Our team of agronomists is here to support you with tailored recommendations that fit your specific farming needs.

Swael grondontledings (grond-S-ontledings)

Regular calibration is critical for consistent results.

Precision in fertiliser application starts with your equipment. When last did you calibrate your spreader, sprayer, or applicator?

Regular calibration ensures:

Even and accurate nutrient distribution across your fields

Optimised fertiliser usage, reducing unnecessary input costs

Protection of your crops from over-fertilisation, which can stunt growth or damage yield

A more sustainable approach to farming, with reduced risk of environmental impact from runoff or leaching

Neglecting to calibrate can lead to costly mistakes — both financially and in terms of crop performance. A few minutes spent on proper calibration could mean the difference between an average yield and an exceptional one.

At Kynoch Fertilizer, we believe that every grain counts. Precision isn’t just about your fertiliser — it’s about how you apply it.

Need assistance? Our team of agronomists is available across South Africa to support you with technical guidance, product recommendations, and precision advice tailored to your region and crops.

Wheat & Temperature Insights

Much has been written about the ideal temperature requirements for wheat and the adverse effects when temperatures drift outside the optimum range, whether cooler or warmer. Temperature influences growth, development and ultimately yield in numerous ways. The optimal temperature for wheat development is 10 °C to 24 °C – not too hot, not too cold. (See infographic.)

At the end of every season, we analyse why wheat—and other crops—may not have performed as expected. To help explain any shortfall, we encourage producers to monitor temperature at strategic points across the farm (for example, high‑lying and low‑lying areas). The most expensive weather station isn’t always necessary. Affordable data loggers—commonly used for livestock and poultry houses—are readily available. These compact devices can be positioned where you need them, and data downloaded periodically. Such on‑farm monitoring offers invaluable insights into temperature deviations and their impact on crop growth and yield.

Our agriculturists have the expertise to deliver comprehensive, farm‑tailored solutions.
