It’s OK to get checked, early conversations make a difference.

Watch for changes like difficulty starting or stopping urination, needing to pass urine more often (especially at night), a weak stream, or unexplained pelvic discomfort. These symptoms are common and often caused by non-cancer issues, but they’re worth discussing with your GP.

If your doctor suggests a prostate-specific antigen blood test, know that it’s just a routine blood test to check prostate health. Depending on the result and clinical judgement, your GP may refer you for further imaging such as prostate MRI or ultrasound.

If you’re concerned, speak to your GP — and book imaging if referred at nrsinc.co.za or WhatsApp 071 246 5759.

November is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, a simple reminder to check in on your health. If you notice urinary changes, pelvic discomfort, or other concerns, please speak to your GP.
