Do you or a loved one suffer from excessive sweating of hands, feet, armpits not necessarily caused by heat. Often this condition leads to people who have it avoid hand shakes or taking off their shoes in public. It’s quite embarrassing and can lead to low self esteem and ultimately depression. It’s actually called hyperhydrosis, often caused by bad genes or some underlying medical conditions eg hyperthyroidism. So it’s always best to treat it as a symptom of something else rather than just seeking to stop the sweating, let’s treat what causes the sweating in the first place.

I recently treated one such patient and she was so pleased with the results that day she shook my hand. So it’s not all in vain, come see us and let’s do a thorough assessment and treat the underlying condition so you too can walk proud and bold!

I’ve often told patients that they need Graduated compression stockings, those that have feet that swell up during the day and become painful, those with lymph oedema, chronic venous insufficiency(where the skin around the ankle turns black from being too swollen) - these are the stockings I’m talking about. They are worn from the moment you wake up and your feet touch the floor, till you lie down to sleep again.

However before just going to buy these, always see your doctor to diagnose the underlying condition, stockings alone are not enough. For some conditions! So don’t doctor yourself, get a professional opinion!

For those who know what the did in December 2025, we have a special for you. TOP (termination of pregnancy/abortion) will be R1500 for the month of January 2026 only. From R2.3k to R1.5k is a huge saving if you ask me. Special starts on the 5th of January. Remember an abortion is every woman’s right, you don’t need the father’s permission to get one.

Also, please avoid doing abortions back door with those flyers you see around town claiming to ‘bring back lost lover, safe abortions etc’ these are extremely unsafe and several women have died because either they bled too much or their womb ruptured or had super infections after exposure to whatever instruments they use. Always use a trusted, qualified medical professional like ourselves, we offer safe abortions. 063 474 5892 for queries!

Happy New Year. Remember an unplanned pregnancy is very expensive. Make sure you’re prepared to raise a child if you keep the pregnancy even if the father is not in the picture anymore.

Please note!

The surgery is CLOSED for a short break, from the 31st till the 4th of January 2026. That means we will be open again from the 5th of January 2026 9am-5pm our usual weekday times. Please celebrate safely with those fireworks, adults must supervise children at all times. No holding of fireworks, once a firework is lit you move 4-5 metres away, even the 100 shooters should not be held but plunged into the soil and left standing as it shoots out shots.

Stay safe! See you in 2026 Happy New Year!

We often hear people saying that ‘pelo e bohloko eya bolaya’ I hate to admit it but there is infact a condition called Broken Heart Syndrome. Where a person who experiences a lot of stress or emotional stress can actually develop physical changes to their heart leaving the heart muscle weak which can lead to heart failure or a heart attack/arrest and death if not treated.

It’s often seen in couples who have been married or stayed together for a long time and had deep connection with one another. When one of them dies, the other one who’s left often passes on within a year or two. This is mostly due to this condition. The same can happen to a parent and their child, often when the grief process isn’t supported, it’s fairly common, some movies and novels have went on to romanticise it.

So if you know someone who’s going through a difficult time, a visit for a chat or emotional support is very important to not allow them to get stuck in the Depression phase of grief which can complicate into this broken heart syndrome (also called Takotsubo cardiomyopathy). At the time it happens the person will have classic signs of a heart attack, chest pain, fainting spells, palpitations, shortness of breath, swelling of feet and legs and even the abdomen. These are signs of early heart failure and needs treatment from a doctor and a psychologist.
