This morning, I was woken up by a buzz on my phone. It was a WhatsApp message from one of my patients who is currently under my treatment. It was a picture she sent. In the picture, is a pregnancy test that she took and it is positive! The best news ever because she had been struggling to fall pregnant and have a baby for a while now. Now I’m glad she’s 2-3 weeks into her pregnancy. I want to congratulate her on her pregnancy and pray all goes well for her and she one day holds that baby in her arms! We at my surgery are filled with joy to could have helped her with this journey.

Many women suffer in silence because of this. Some marriages end because of infertility. And for most times it can be treated. So pay us a visit and let’s help you too.

For those who are still struggling to find my surgery. Drive up to Mochachos in Sasolburg CBD, then along the road leading to SASSA offices we will be on your right hand side just before you reach SASSA offices or the new Sasolburg X-ray place.

We’re in the same yard as Dr Molokoane, The Dentist, in the same building Mr Mbonambi the Psychologist previously was. Or otherwise search ‘29 NJ Van Der Merwe Crescent, Sasolburg CBD 1948’ on google maps and it will lead you straight to us.

Hope to see you soon.

Some medications can cause what we call Gum Hyperplasia. This is a condition whereby the gums enlarge in size in some cases to a point where teeth can be buried under gum tissue. This often leads to tooth loss, painful bitting/chewing, bleeding, increased risk of trauma and overall unsightly appearance.

A drug that’s commonly responsible for this is Phenytoin (medication for managing Epilepsy) others include Amloc or Amlodipine (given for High Blood Pressure) , Cyclosporine (for Rhuematoid arthritis). Other causes include poor hygiene with plaque buildup, genetics and certain medical conditions.

Be vigilant and if you are on such medication or a loved one, to take quick action as this can be avoided/treated. However it’s not everyone who takes this medication who will get this condition.

Public Announcement!

Ladies and Gentlemen, the surgery’s number is not available/working at the moment due to a break-in incident that took place this morning.

At around 9.40am this morning, an unknown black male managed to get into the surgery while the receptionist was busy at the other area of the surgery, this man not only stole the receptionist’s bag but also he stole the cellphone that we use as the surgery’s main phone, the 063 474 5892 number is thus unavailable till further notice.

We’re temporarily available on 063 002 4539 we will update you as we have new developments. The suspect can be seen on this attached photo, if anyone has any information as to who this person might be please inform the police in town.

To all my GEMS clients

I keep getting messages/emails from GEMS that it’s time for most of you to come and have your blood taken. These can be diabetics, those with high blood pressure or high cholesterols, HIV positive - essentially all chronic patients let’s make means to get those bloods done at my surgery by this week otherwise GEMS will flag you as non-compliant on treatment and they can officially cut paying medication for you?

Meaning? You’ll have to pay out of pocket for those very expensive medications. So please let’s avoid that. I’m not going to mention names but if this message applies to you please don’t waste time as come. Remember Pap smears are also important, we’re catching cervical cancer too late in women for a disease that is so easily treatable!

Please guys. Funds funds in, use the wisely!

For patients who come for TOP (termination of pregnancy)

I always remind them of the traditional side of things. Cleansing at the river with a trained and trusted nyanga, and performing of the Lati. This is done to ensure the fetus’ soul that had passed on is recognised by the mother and father’s ancestors and accepted as one of them and it finds a home, also it avoids the evil spirits from using your fetus’s soul for evil doings. Also it removes the dark cloud that will befall the parents eg loss of jobs, failing to fall pregnant, bad omens just unfolding in their lives.

So remember this. And that’s why it’s important to involve parents even after you’ve Terminated.

We are open tomorrow (Saturday, 10th January 2026) 9am - 2pm.

The following Saturday we’re closed and so on. We alternate Saturdays to make sure we too get some rests.

Regards

Do you or a loved one suffer from excessive sweating of hands, feet, armpits not necessarily caused by heat. Often this condition leads to people who have it avoid hand shakes or taking off their shoes in public. It’s quite embarrassing and can lead to low self esteem and ultimately depression. It’s actually called hyperhydrosis, often caused by bad genes or some underlying medical conditions eg hyperthyroidism. So it’s always best to treat it as a symptom of something else rather than just seeking to stop the sweating, let’s treat what causes the sweating in the first place.

I recently treated one such patient and she was so pleased with the results that day she shook my hand. So it’s not all in vain, come see us and let’s do a thorough assessment and treat the underlying condition so you too can walk proud and bold!

I’ve often told patients that they need Graduated compression stockings, those that have feet that swell up during the day and become painful, those with lymph oedema, chronic venous insufficiency(where the skin around the ankle turns black from being too swollen) - these are the stockings I’m talking about. They are worn from the moment you wake up and your feet touch the floor, till you lie down to sleep again.

However before just going to buy these, always see your doctor to diagnose the underlying condition, stockings alone are not enough. For some conditions! So don’t doctor yourself, get a professional opinion!
