Body Stress Release, Samantha Maritz, Somerset West B.S.R is a health profession concerned with unlocking the tensions stored in physical structures.

Body Stress Release offers a gentle and effective way to release stored tension from the body, thereby activating a process that restores and enhances the body’s natural ability to heal itself. This stored tension may be the cause of the discomfort or other symptoms you may be experiencing including; backache, neck pain, headaches, sciatica, fibromyalgia, cramps, constipation, anxiety, stiffness when getting out of bed, dizziness while reading, a child fidgeting, unable to sit still - to name but a few. While the stress or tension remains stored in the body, the normal tone of the body is disturbed, causing a reduction in its general efficiency. As its defence mechanisms become weakened, the body becomes less and less able to deal with further stresses to which it is subjected daily. In this way the individual moves increasingly further away from the optimum state of health. As pressure is released from the nerves, there may be immediate relief from pain, relaxing of tight muscles, even straightening of distorted posture. Usually this is the case if the body stress has occurred recently - the process of restoring normal tone is very rapid and the life energy flow is quickly re-established. If the body stress has been present for a long time, it will be necessary for a number of stress releases to be carried out over a period of time. This allows the layers of tightened muscles to relax progressively back to their normal tone. This process of unlocking the deeply stored tension could be compared to peeling away the layers of an onion.

Our story this week:
For four years *Tina had a stiff neck and daily headaches and she accepted these as her lot in life. Her real problem, she said, was her left elbow. It was so painful she could not sleep on her left side, and she was unable to lift the arm at all. She had been to numerous doctors and other practitioners, to no avail, and now lived on painkillers. Her arm had been X-rayed and appeared normal. No X-rays had been taken of the neck, although this proved to be the source of the arm problem. As tension was released from her neck, Tina felt immediate relief and could raise her arm slightly. By her third BSR session, her arm was functioning normally and was pain-free, and she had no more headaches

Did you know that BSR does not only help adults with built up body stress but can have life changing effects on children, toddlers and babies too. If your child has been labelled as naughty, disruptive, a dreamer or even a slow learner, they may be struggling with stored body stress and may be helped by 3 or more Body Stress Release sessions.

The effect of BSR is to improve the communication between the brain and the cells of the body, thereby assisting the body to restore normal function. Over the years we have observed how this is an ongoing process and thus the technique practices the following guidelines with regards to sessions:

Three Initial sessions are needed to experience the full benefit of BSR.

1) Intensive Phase – Essential / Required
Day 1, Day 4, (possibly Day 7) and Day 11
This is to address the immediate reason for attending BSR – Pain, discomfort, postural distortion, headaches, emotional stress etc.

2) Subsequent Phase - Recommended
Once every week or every second week (depending on individual case requirements)
This Phase is to continue unlocking stored tension / body stress at deeper levels as the body returns to an optimal state of well-being.

3) Maintenance Phase – Your commitment to your health and well-being
Once every 3 weeks, monthly or every 6 weeks
On-going health maintenance – Most people honour the principle of prevention when it comes to their car, ensuring that it is serviced on a regular basis. We would be wise to give our bodies the same consideration and attend regular sessions of BSR to assist the body in maintaining optimal health.

Our bodies don’t always respond or react to things the way we want or need them to. In these times it's important to not lose sight of how far we have come. To not lose sight of hope.

Did you know that any trauma, whether caused by a car accident, a fall, or some other violent event, is likely to result in body stress. If it is not released, as time passes, the layers of muscles in the back and neck will become increasingly tense, in order to minimise mobility and avoid further tissue damage. It makes sense to have the locked-in tension dealt with as soon as possible so find a practitioner near you: https://bodystressrelease.com/help/find-a-body-stress-release-practitioner-2/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=referral-organic&utm_campaign=find+a+practitioner&fbclid=IwY2xjawI0ItJleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHUv0vRcqADT6oNhErFfPT6Xb6Jy8l4PLZYlUFv725eh8bwqykuaKYGhIgA_aem_TH4RkIPkIF1kxNbyTvBiHQ
