About Us

Maximed was established in 1996 when four independent Pharmacies in Standerton amalgamated to provide consumers the benefit of highly competitive prices, extensive specialised product ranges and extended shopping hours. The then three Directors, Ferdie Weyers, Peter Daniel and Jeremy Seigel opened two branches in Standerton with the goal of providing accessible and affordable health care of the highest professional standard to the greater Standerton area. In 2010, Ferdie Weyers left South Africa for Canada to join the Shoppers Drug Mart Group and run his own Pharmacy in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. During this time he entered into negotiations to purchase Maximed Pharmacies from his ex-partners and finally took over the helm as sole director in June 2013. The two branches were consolidated into one main branch in , currently located in the Maximed Building, Princess street, Standerton, Mpumalanga

Since 2013, Maximed has grown annually and is constantly seeking to reach deeper into the pharmaceutical and related products & services landscape and we felt it timeous to start an online platform to reach a bigger base of customers. The online platform will enable for more people to access healthcare information to assist manage their healthcare requirements. Through the use of proprietary technology we are able to reduce costs, which will result in industry leading pricing which is beneficial to our consumers. Our motto is “More than just medicine!”
