Anterior Pelvic Tilt – The Posture Problem Many People Don’t Realise They Have

Ever noticed a lower back that always feels tight…
A stomach that seems to stick out even when you're fit…
Or glutes that just don’t seem to activate properly?

It might not be weakness.
It might be an anterior pelvic tilt.

Anterior pelvic tilt happens when the pelvis rotates forward, increasing the arch in the lower back. Over time, this posture changes how muscles work and how the body moves.

What can it cause?

• Lower back pain
• Tight hip flexors
• Weak or inactive glutes
• Core dysfunction
• Hamstring tightness
• Poor posture and movement patterns
• Hip and knee pain
• A stomach that protrudes forward

When the pelvis sits in the wrong position, the body starts compensating. Muscles that should work become lazy, while others become overworked and tight.

The result? Pain, inefficient movement, and frustration when exercise doesn’t seem to help.

The good news:
Anterior pelvic tilt is very treatable.

With the right combination of: ✔ posture correction
✔ glute activation
✔ core strengthening
✔ mobility work

the pelvis can return to a more neutral position and movement patterns can improve dramatically.

Sometimes the pain you feel is only the symptom…
The real problem is the alignment and muscle imbalance underneath it.

This is why proper assessment and targeted rehabilitation matters.

Your body works as a system — and when we correct the root cause, everything starts working better.

PROTECT YOUR BONES.

When someone breaks a hip from a fall, we blame the fall. But the fracture was years in the making.
Bone is living tissue. It responds to the demands you place on it. When you load your skeleton through weight bearing exercise, impact, and resistance training, your bones get denser and stronger. When you stop, they quietly thin.

After age 50, women can lose up to 20 percent of their bone density in the first 5 to 7 years after menopause. Men lose it more slowly but they lose it too.

The cruel part is you cannot feel it happening. Bones do not hurt as they thin. There is no warning sign until the day a minor fall becomes a major fracture.

This is why I tell every patient over 40: your bones need to be loaded. Walk. Climb stairs. Lift weights.

You are not exercising to burn calories. You are exercising to stay unbreakable.

If you or a loved one needs help to fall proof your bones get in touch!

Cardiac Rehab at Marizelle Grobler Biokineticist ❤️

A cardiac event changes your life.

Whether it was a heart attack, bypass surgery, stent placement, or a new diagnosis… suddenly movement feels scary. Your confidence drops. You’re unsure what’s safe.

You’re unsure how hard is too hard.

That’s where cardiac rehabilitation comes in.

At Marizelle Grobler Biokineticist, cardiac rehab is not just “exercise.”

It’s structured, medically informed, individualized rehabilitation designed to help you:
✔ Safely rebuild strength
✔ Improve heart and lung function
✔ Reduce fatigue
✔ Manage blood pressure and cholesterol
✔ Regain confidence in your body
✔ Lower your risk of future cardiac events

As a Biokineticist, I use clinical exercise prescription to guide you step-by-step.
We monitor intensity.
We progress gradually.
We build endurance safely.
And most importantly — we remove the fear around movement.

Exercise is medicine.

But only when it’s prescribed correctly.
If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with heart disease, had surgery, or is living with risk factors like hypertension or high cholesterol — you don’t have to navigate recovery alone.
Your heart is worth investing in. ❤️

You wouldn’t ignore your doctor’s prescription and expect to heal.

So why do we ignore our exercise prescription and expect our pain to disappear?

Your rehab program is not a suggestion.
It’s not “if I have time.”
It’s not “when I feel like it.”

It’s a targeted, clinically reasoned treatment plan designed specifically for your body, your injury, and your goals.

As a Biokineticist, I don’t give exercises to keep you busy.
I prescribe them to:
• Restore joint mechanics
• Rebuild strength
• Retrain neuromuscular control
• Prevent recurrence
• Future-proof your body

Pain relief without movement correction is temporary.
Sustainable recovery requires participation.

Follow your exercise program like you follow your doctor’s advice.

Because consistency — not appointments — is what gets you better.
