Endo(metriosis) is a condition where tissue that is usually found in your uterus, somehow migrated, and is now found in other parts of your body i.e. ovaries, bladder, bowel etc.. As this tissue is similar to that found in your uterus, it still responds to hormone fluctuations of the menstrual cycle: tissue builds up, breaks down, cause bleeding, and repeat. This causes inflammation and irritation to the surrounding tissue leading to pain, and often scar tissue.
