Equine Therapy with Energy Healing by Ginnie Felling Energy flows through the body and aura of a horse through the systems of chakras and meridians, much like an electric current.

Imbalances in the aura can be treated and this helps to facilitates healing in the physical body.

Why is energy healing used for horses? And useful for the riders, owners and the people who look after them?

Horses, like most grazing animals, have a ‘group’ energy, and this helps them to survive in the wild. They are more in tune with things around them than humans are. They will spot a movement far away and will keep focused on that for some time, and you can be looking at them and thinking “what are they looking at?”
This is a prey animal’s survival mechanism. They need to know if the movement they have seen, or sensed, is harmful or not. These days horses are often kept in isolation, such as being alone in a paddock. They could be fed far too much food which can adversely affect their brains and nervous systems, and as horses react (or overreact – such as spooking) to things, they can get progressively worse. This is where a calm, good aura can be of great help to the horse, in terms of relaxation, confidence and good health, which will benefit the people around this horse.

Their energy field, or aura as it is also called, is of a much higher vibrational frequency than most people can see, and they instinctively use this to find out and process the data that they are receiving. This then filters into the brain and the horse responds, sometimes instantaneously, to avoid -what in their world - means danger. The other horses in the herd will also immediately respond and take action.
The action taken can be flight, or they can freeze. And there are numerous other results of this behavior, that are exhibited by horses, which may be uncomfortable for the rider, handler, grooms, or people close by.

I have observed that if their aura is not functioning as it should, they are nervous and jumpy, or, it can become the total opposite, where they become dull and switch off. This happens because the messages they receive in the physical body, are jumbled and distorted.

This can be caused by accidents, injuries, separation anxiety, medication, and medical procedures; also stress from training, bad diets, and many other causes.
When the aura is balanced and working harmoniously as it should, the horse will be more able to work and live in its environment.
It is sad for me to see how nervous and stressed so many horses are in today’s world, and we are responsible for their care.

One of the things I find works well with the long-distance healing with the horses, is when a horse has a virus or has had a virus.

The ones we know about and the ones we do not.! Some viruses do not appear to be serious, a temperature, off their feed for a few days, and they can appear to be a little stiff in the body. Then they are fine. But viruses linger in the body for longer than we think, and I like to suggest to my clients to leave them for 3 to 6 weeks without putting them back in work. A virus can affect the heart, and sometimes the ones we do not know about are more significant for the long-term health of the horse.
Some years ago, I treated a lovely 11yr old gelding, Pepy. He had looked off colour for some time and the vet was called in. This vet is a homeopathic vet and doing his PHD in toxicology, He sent the bloods off to be to be tested and when they came back positive for West Nile Virus, he laid out a strict program for Pepy in terms of when he could be worked again. Every month he would take blood to see how the liver was, and he said that until the liver was normal, he cannot be worked!! 9 months later, the liver was normal, and he came into work, and all was well. But another horse, in the same yard, had the same symptoms, and the owner did not want to do the testing. The horse had a heart attack when getting excited at a show, a few weeks later and he just dropped dead in the horse box!! It was an incredibly sad experience for everyone.

What I do now, if a horse has a virus, is energetically to do a cleanse and balancing in the etheric body and in the aura. 3 to 4 sessions. The virus affects the aura, and it becomes stagnant, and the normal flow of good energy is not there to nourish the body. Once the cleansing is done, the chakras need to be rebalanced and I have observed that the horse recovers much more quickly. In the case of a virus, known or unknown, I also work on the meridians to restore energy flow as well.

"Many horses are in pain, or have other sorts of problems: what we are now calling "behavioral problems ", which in simple terms means that it is difficult for the horse to do what their human owner/rider/trainer wants them to do, and if this continues without being solved, horses will become difficult and badly behaved etc. Because their pain has gone unrecognized, the only way out that they have is to avoid having to do what the human wants and it often ends dangerously, i.e., kids falling off ponies, horses bolting, rearing, and going over backwards, biting, kicking etc. My aim is to try to explain horses to humans. This, of course could fill a multitude of books!! Also, their needs, as they can’t speak, has to be understood by the human, and I have learnt over the last 30 years of treating horses, breeding horses, feeding them etc., but mostly by developing a keen eye for when a horse is off colour, sick, Injured, unhappy, etc., From being observant, I have learnt the most from the horses themselves. I have read books, articles, looked at a massive amount of horses over the internet, FB etc; read vet articles, trainers articles, but what has affected me the most is how many people have no idea of what is happening with their horse/horses, and are often in a location that is far away from professional help. I do not do much physical work now, with horses, but for many years I have been involved in learning how the energy fields work for horses, and the bountiful availability now of other methods of helping horses in the complimentary fields that assists veterinary care.
