A little snap from a Private Chocolate Yoga Session for a couple at this morning ❤️

We had raw chocolate mousse for breakfast while chatting about the history of Cacao and the Spirit of Mother ixCacao.

We then moved over to a gentle intention setting breathwork practice and had a gentle and nurturing anti-rheumatic flow followed by a gentle chest opening sequence to bring mobility into the spine.

My clients then had a special 5 minutes of eye gazing and we integrated their Chocolate Yoga journey using the magic that is Yoga Nidra.

I provide private couples chocolate yoga in Jeffrey’s Bay and St Francis Bay, feel welcome to reach out to book a session ♥️✨

Pregnancy and Birth are an initiation that we have come to overlook, just the same as menstruation.

Through each one of our archetypal experiences, there is a certain level of ritual, support and ceremony that is required for the spirit of a woman to safely travel from the first cycle to the last.

When there is a perceived separation of Spirit, there comes fragmentation in the body through the manifestation of fear, abandonment, self loathing and self doubt. Guidance is required - yet in retrospect, a woman can only access deep inner knowing through her own heart and womb space.

This, for me, has been where balancing my Masculine and Feminine energies have been a beautiful catalyst to change in my experiences as a woman.

The Masculine wants structure, to follow the straight edge and corners of patterns and teachings. Whereas the Feminine wants to carve beyond those points, in curves and spirals. Seeing the structure but trusting the natural flow of point, to point. Seeing what structure cannot present.

We require the stability of the structure our Masculine Energies present to us but in order to go deeper and to find what they mean to us, we have to move through spirals, curves, sometimes we have to go forward, to go backwards.

And from here we can find ourselves at the centre, balanced and ever changing. Like a flower that spirals out. Reaching for light. Learning to grow in our own way 🙏

✨Go with your Flow✨

Modern day society hasn't taken into consideration that women are cyclical beings.

Whereas men have a 1 day cycle - we have a 28-34 day cycle!

What does this mean for us? Well, a lot! Through my journey learning about my body and the natural floe of hormones through the different stages of my menstrual cycle- I've learnt the greatest tool of all- planning my calendar around my cycle and creating a practice that best flows with my hormones and my current state of being.

I also eat food to support my cycle and eat foods that match my inner seasons- helping me balance my hormones, giving me the opportunity to consciously eat and helping me along my long time journey of healing from an eating disorder and Complex Post Traumic Stress Disorder

How it looks for me:

Winter: A time to retreat, if I can, I take a day (or a few hours) off from parenting, take a break from social media and use this time to tune in to my inner world. In this phase I find a list of experiences, situations and beliefs that I need to release in order to walk into the next phase of my cycle with clear energy.
Practice: Womb Massage

Spring: A time to begin to pinpoint what I will focus on in the next few weeks. At this stage my anxiety is at its lowest so I also use this time for any tasks that may need a lot of patience.
Practice: Womb Yoga

Summer: A time to create, to socialize, to flow with the inner Divine Feminine. I use this time to create content, write, play, to create a new vision board for the month. Just because you aren't creating a baby, doesn't mean that energy disappears!
Practice: Create a vision board

Autumn: A time to take note of my triggers, things that are not serving my highest purpose. In this time I find myself noticing the hormones that made me feel great just a few days ago, slowly tapering off. I use this time to create journal prompts for the Winter approaching.
Practice: Inner Child work

For this reason I call this way of living ✨Flowing through my Sacred Seasons✨

Would you like to learn more about Flowing with your Sacred Seasons? Are you wanting to begin a spiritual practice but aren't sure where to begin? Reach out to me via DM! ✨

The Womb

The nest for your
Divine Creative Power
A warm space for
Divine Feminine
To integrate the
Planting Of seeds
With the intention
To lift the vibration of
Mother
Earth,
Higher
Higher

Higher than the
Mountains we dream of
That we seek to conquer
To reach a peak
and trust
when It's time to make the gradual decline from the
Heavens
Into the Shadow
Of this Great Mountain
This is where we
Can allow ourselves
To be nurtured, and
To Grow

It shall be So.

If every experience we have ever had, shapes our perception- wouldn’t it make sense that our creative centre, our womb, is filled with the hurts that most tainted our ability to see who we are, in our Divine Power?

“What I have learnt from the Crones in my ancestral line:
I knew the would was there, I felt the warmth of tue blood oozing from this hurt. The warmth was comfortable and eventually the pain became a familiar reminder that I was alive. Pain, my oldest companion. I didn’t want to look at the wound because it was a reminder of the moment I was ripped open. I covered it up so you wouldn’t see it, so they wouldn’t see it and use it against me again.” - The Wood Mother Line

I have seen it, as my Mother has repeated patterns time and again- how she has manifested the same person in 1000 ways, through experiences, lovers, even me as her daughter.

Working with my own Mother using intuitive womb channeling recently made me realize that holding space for her, the same way I hold space for others is the missing key. Stepping out of the role of Daughter into Medicine Woman, Womb Guide. From this place I can serve her, from this place of doing and being as I am in my Power.

I can serve by healing my own wounds and programming, by releasing my need for her approval or “how my mother should be” but just accepting her as she is- while standing in my Power.

My mom and I recently had a long call where she was explaining her life in a linear way- and I clicked seeing a stark pattern: where I mentioned “My whole life I recall you saying ‘well that’s just how I am’ - we don’t use the same recipe if the meal just doesn’t turn out great. We change something up. Maybe it’s time you used a different recipe? Maybe it’s time to release it”

For this sharing I leave you with these two journal prompts:

•What have I lost by not being able to trust?•
•What was my experience when I first held the feeling of distrust•

Remembering that trust is multi faceted; it could be trust with yourself or others.

Tova Botha took this photo if me while I was opening Sacred Space at our Red Tent and it pulled a little poem out of me

You there with the empty stare
Broken hearted and bare
Come over here
Sit with me
I truly want to hear

Hear what has hurt you
And what you've transcended
Hear what you've left in the silence
Between gasps through your endless tears

I know how it feels
To be all alone
Nothing to grasp on to
Struck by the never ending questioning
"Why weren't they there"

Picking petals off of flowers
"She loves me, she loves me not"
A game played by a little girl alone in the garden
Praying for a Divine pardon

A Mother Wound I've licked
Until it was raw
Just when it feels like a neat, healed scar
Another intervention from the Universe
"Nope, not so fast"

Unconditional love
Perhaps I came here to heal her
Perhaps if I sit up straight and listen
Perhaps if I give of myself
Her own hurt will go into remission

Remission, that's the word I find
When I tend to my Mother Wound
Because it still hurts when I look at it
Even when sutured

Served a hand, as a human,
I, simply cannot understand
But as a Soul I feel
This experience,
Carefully curated
All planned

Rather than feeling empowered by the cycle as a spiritual practice, the truth is, many women today feel disturbed by it, and some experience quite extreme suffering, including mental health issues that show up cyclically.

There’s a huge litany of menstrual symptoms, and we have to ask ourselves why this happens when the menstrual cycle is a normal, healthy process and our original spiritual practice. How has it come to this sorry state of affairs, and what might it be saying?

Our suffering has its roots in the cultural denial and fear of our menstrual reality and power. It has caused many women to doubt or pathologize their own experiences of the cycle, in particular, premenstrually and menstrually.

This is a form of ‘gaslighting’, a term used to describe psychological abuse that aims surreptitiously to destroy a victim’s trust in their own perceptions of reality, so they end up not trusting themselves.

We’ve coined the phrase ‘menstrual trauma’ to describe this form of gaslighting. We believe menstrual trauma is at the root of our menstrual suffering.

It’s crucial that we speak and share freely with other women to discover that we’re not mad and that the deep and powerful states possible in all phases of the cycle are real and normal. They only feel wrong because we’re not able to follow and support our process.

Begin to restore the power of the cycle, however modestly, and over time you reshape your experience of yourself; you soothe your whole system, release this subtle ‘trauma’ and ease your symptoms.

For some women the effect is immediate, for others it’s a slower process and needs to be combined with other self-care practices.

And for others still, the answers are more complex and may require considerable input from the many health modalities available today.

Regardless of the level of your suffering, with the restoration of awareness of the cycle’s power comes meaning. A glimmer of empowerment can stir within the powerlessness you may feel.
