*Job Description*: DevOps Engineer (AIX, DB2, SQL, GitLab)

*About the Role*
Our bespoke software development company, a newly formed joint venture with leading South African software companies, is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team and play a crucial role in establishing our infrastructure. You'll be responsible for building and maintaining our environments, integrating them with our CI/CD pipeline using GitLab, and migrating our current code to Microsoft Azure.

*Key Responsibilities*
* Design, build, and maintain our AIX environments, including DB2 and SQL databases.
* Integrate our environments with our GitLab CI/CD pipeline, automating deployment and testing processes.
* Migrate our existing codebase to Microsoft Azure, ensuring a seamless transition.
* Collaborate with development, testing, and operations teams to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
* Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell).
* Stay up-to-date with the latest DevOps technologies and best practices.
Required Skills and Experience
* Strong proficiency in AIX operating system administration, including package management, user management, and network configuration.
* Expertise in DB2 and SQL database administration, installation, configuration, and performance tuning.
* In-depth knowledge of GitLab CI/CD pipelines, runners, and configuration.
* Experience with scripting languages like Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
* Familiarity with Linux environments and infrastructure.
* Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills.
* A passion for automation and continuous improvement.
Preferred Skills
* Experience with cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure.
* Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
* Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).

"[19] Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them."

It's truly disheartening to realize that harsh words can bring such deep sorrow to a wife's heart. The impact is undeniably unforgettable.
Gentleness will keep your wife smiling like this towards you daily...

For me, I have this as evidence of my gentle words—at least, that's what she says. But I think I get extra for paying lobola..this comes with lots of extras 🤤.
