Yesterday’s joint demonstration between First Responder KZN, SAPS, Westville Correctional Services, and our local security companies was more than just a show of readiness — it was a celebration of the power of women in emergency services.

In every uniform, behind every badge, and in every moment of response, there are women who rise with courage, strength, and resilience. 💪

To all the women serving in Westville’s frontline services: you prove that leadership, bravery, and compassion are not defined by gender, but by heart and action.

Here’s to breaking barriers, saving lives, and standing tall together. 🚑🚔👮‍♀️

Women’s day is a day to celebrate the strength, courage and achievements of women in our country. Today we especially celebrate the women of First Responder KZN. We are so proud to be a company that is not only owned and run by women but have a majority of women employed. We have the most phenomenal women in our team and today we celebrate them. 💛🩶💛🩶💛🩶

*Tragedy on the M13: One Killed, Another Airlifted Following Maytime Pedestrian Crash*

Emergency services responded swiftly to a devastating pedestrian incident on the M13 freeway near Maytime at approximately 14:45 today.

Upon arrival, First Responder KZN and Red Line Response teams discovered two severely injured individuals lying on the roadway. Tragically, one of the victims sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene.

The second patient was critically wounded, prompting the urgent activation of the Air Mercy Service. Mercy Wing 5 was dispatched and landed on the closed section of the freeway to expedite medical intervention. The patient was stabilised at the scene before being airlifted to a specialised medical facility for emergency care.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident, which remain unclear at this stage.

This morning our staff were on standby at St Benedict’s Fun Run and Exercise Showdown. We offered free blood pressure and sugar testing as well as treating any injured athletes.

This worker’s day our staff spent the day sharpening their resuscitation skills by completing a BLS for Healthcare providers course. Ensuring that our staff stay current with the latest CPR protocols is very important so that we can offer our patients the best possible care.
