Picture this: You’re sitting at your desk mid-afternoon, stomach growling like a lawnmower. Lunch feels like it was ages ago, and you swear that sad salad did nothing to stop the hunger. As you contemplate raiding the office snack stash, a co-worker waltzes by with a yogurt in hand,

New YouTube video is up.
In this video, I explain why losing weight is so difficult and suggest ways to overcome this obstacle instead of constantly chasing the next diet.
It’s Friday evening, and you’ve just finished a long, exhausting week. You collapse onto the couch and instinctively grab a bag of chips. Each crunch feels comforting, and for a moment, the stress of your week seems to fade. But then, an hour later, you feel sluggish. Your

Monday Motivation blog post is up
Let me tell you about a moment I had last week. Picture this: I was rushing through my day, juggling work, errands, and trying to squeeze in a quick meal. I sat down to eat but barely tasted anything because I was thinking about my next task. Halfway through, I

Hi. I’m Bertus, Certified Dietitian, Personal Trainer and Strength & Conditioning Coach. For most of my life, I have been overweight and underactive until one day I just could not deal with feeling uncomfortable in my own skin anymore. That’s where my health journey started. After searching the web and feeling overwhelmed with all the information on what to eat and what not to eat I took another route and enrolled to become a Certified Dietitian.
I weighed 120kg, didn’t run a day in my life and now I’m a very healthy 68kg, I have been asked countless times what diet did I follow? I made me realise that every time someone wants to lose weight they want to go on a diet, every time they struggle with some health issues they want to fix it with a tablet. Little do we realise that the food that we put into our bodies plays a major role in how the body will function. Losing weight isn’t the difficult part nor taking a tablet prescribed, the most difficult part was making healthier living a daily habit and sustainable over long periods of time to reap the benefits.
My practice is all about habit changes to your nutrition and how to incorporate them into your daily life. There is no one size fits all diets and what worked for one won't work for the other. We are all different and unique and our requirements are different.
If you would like to know more about what I do and how I can help you improve your nutrition, please contact me and we can work on living a healthier life together!
