Your healthcare needs remains the cornerstone and foundation of our service ethos and patient safety forms an integral part of the patient recovery process hence the fact that no expense was spared with the development and construction cost for our new facility and particular attention was paid to the hotel portion of our service and aesthetics of the hospital. Our new facility was purposefully built taking each and every patient needs into consideration and the facility boasts expansive scenic views, ample parking luxurious accommodation to cater for the healthcare needs ensuring that a holistic approach is followed to ensure the full recovery and wellbeing of our patients. Our highly skilled Specialist component supported by our dedicated nursing staff adhere to the highest standards of professional nursing treatment and are committed to caring for your health and well-being. Our medical and surgical equipment boasts the latest advances in technology and is constantly updated, keeping the facilities at Melomed Tokai in line with the latest innovations in medical technology. Our facility houses 148 beds and can comfortably accommodate patients at any time, and provide a wide spectrum of specialist services, including radiology, pathology, physiotherapy and speech therapy. The Melomed Tokai facility also brags a first of its kind Catheterization Laboratory & Heart Centre for the surrounding areas ably backed by a interventional and cardiac team supported by a comprehensive Intensive Care Unit on site. Our surgical expertise includes procedures such as major Orthopaedics, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, ENT, Maxillo-facial, general and arterial surgery. In addition, Melomed Gatesville houses 25 permanent resident specialists who provide the surrounding community with access to a broad range of top medical services. At Melomed Tokai, we take our responsibilities to the community seriously. That is why we have instituted an after-hours emergency service, allowing the surrounding community immediate access to emergency medical care. ✨ Celebrating Women’s Month ✨

On Friday, 8 August, an inspiring Women in Leadership event was held at the Senate Hall, University of the Western Cape. 💐

We were proud to have Dr. Zaraina Solomons, Specialist Physician at Melomed Gatesville, as one of the keynote speakers, sharing valuable insights on women’s health. 🩺 Her talk empowered attendees with knowledge and inspired action for a healthier future.

The Melomed Gatesville team also attended and hosted an engaging exhibition table, offering valuable health information and connecting with guests throughout the day.

The event was a powerful space for women to lead, create, and inspire. A celebration of strength, vision, and possibility. 🌟

In celebration of Women’s Month, Melomed Private Hospitals proudly completed our Sanitary Drive in support of young girls in need.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated, your kindness and generosity are deeply appreciated and will go a long way in helping young girls feel confident, secure, and supported.💐

Each of our hospitals played a part:
✨ Melomed Mitchells Plain, Melomed Head Office, and Melomed Gatesville sent their donations to Melomed Bellville and Melomed Tokai to distribute to schools in need.
✨ Melomed Bellville donated sanitary pads to Hauge Primary School.

A First for the Southern Suburbs!
Melomed Tokai is now TAVI Certified and remains the only Interventional Cardiology Centre in the area, giving our community direct access to advanced, life-saving cardiac care. On Thursday, 24 July, Melomed Tokai hosted a special event to mark the official certification of our TAVI Centre, the only 24-hour Heart Centre in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town.

The centre now performs Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) – an advanced, minimally invasive procedure that offers a safer alternative to open-heart surgery for patients with severe aortic stenosis.

This Mandela Day, Melomed Private Hospitals proudly dedicated our 67 minutes to spreading warmth, kindness, and hope through a special Soup and Blanket Drive across our facilities. 🧡✨

In honour of Nelson Mandela’s legacy of selfless service and compassion, our staff came together to cook hearty meals, collect cosy blankets, and distribute them to vulnerable individuals and families in need. It was more than just a gesture, it was a reminder that each of us has the power to uplift our communities, one small act at a time. Madiba taught us that "What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others."
