About
I registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as an Industrial Psychologist in 2005, and graduated with a Ph.D. in Industrial and Organisational Psychology from the University of Pretoria in 2018. My doctoral research focused on understanding how implicit (unconscious) bias of managers results in subtle, often unintentional, acts of micro-discrimination which may be experienced by diverse employees as abusive, and further exploring how transformational leadership can buffer the negative impact of such bias for both employees and organisations. I also hold a Masters of Commerce in Human Resource Management, where my research focused on evaluating the impact of learnerships on the work performance of employees.
I have more than 20 years’ experience working in various internal HR and external Industrial Psychology consulting roles. I have consulted with clients in a variety of industries in South Africa, Egypt, Namibia, Mozambique, Kenya, Nigeria, and Mauritius. I established Best of People Consulting during 2017, where my mission is to unlock the potential of organisations and individuals by advancing the science and practice of management. I help clients with their talent management and diversity challenges, on both an individual and organizational level, utilizing best practice business research, science and practical solutions.
Outside of work, I enjoy reading and spending time with my family. Experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen is my way of expressing creativity. I am intellectually curious. My philosophy is that "good enough" is never good enough. I believe in authenticity, have a strong passion for learning and treating all people with dignity and respect.
