International Dementia Day, more formally known as World Alzheimer's Day, is observed annually on September 21st. The day is a global focal point during World Alzheimer's Month and serves to raise awareness about Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia, educate the public, and support affected individuals and their families.

As an industry expert to the elderly and healthcare industry, it has become evident that more and more residents with dementia are admitted into facilities where the nurses and caregivers are not necessarily trained in dementia care. The main nursing goals for dementia patients center around enhancing quality of life, ensuring safety, and managing symptoms. These goals encompass maintaining functional independence, promoting meaningful engagement, and providing support for caregivers. This can only be achieved when the staff is informed to give them the opportunity to provide individualised and holistic care to each dementia patient.

HealthiLee Care Academy is presenting a workshop in George on 4 July 2025 to offer a platform for dementia caregivers to help manage the challenges of caring for someone with dementia.

The HealthiLee Group is growing in leaps and bounds!
