🌟 Question Monday: Improving Bumpy Skin on the Arms! 🌟
We received a question from a concerned parent: "My daughter has developed bumpy skin on the back of her arms. It feels rough and dry, but body lotion doesn’t seem to help. What can we do to improve the texture of her skin?"
Thanks to Emma for her insightful answer! The condition you're describing is known as Keratosis Pilaris, which occurs when excess keratin builds up in the hair follicles. This is often seen on the backs of the arms, thighs, and buttock areas.
While moisturizers can alleviate some dryness, they may not be enough on their own. To improve the texture of the skin, incorporating ingredients such as alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) can significantly help increase cell turnover. We recommend the regular use of Environ Derma-lac Lotion or Lamelle Cathepzyme 2 Serum for effective treatment.
These products can provide the exfoliation and hydration needed to smooth out the skin and reduce the bumpy texture.
