it is World Mental Health Day. which should really be every day as so many of us struggle daily in so many ways. we need to be more compassionate, with ourselves and others, more vulnerable, more willing to make sure we know what is really going on for the people in our lives.
we need to end the stigma and make help far more accesible. sometimes, we need to be the help and hope that someone needs.
but we also need to change this toxic, normalised societal and generational narrative that we need to always mask and pretend that we are fine when we are enduring intolerable suffering within.
this does not just include depression, anxiety and other disorders; it is also about grief, burnout in the workplace, trauma, addictions, neurodiversity and so many more nuanced struggles.
it IS okay not be okay.
but there is hope, always.
