🌟 This Week’s Warrior of the Week 🌟

✨ Meet our precious Luan ✨
He is now 7 and a half months old, and his big brother Wian is 3 and a half.

We are so thankful to the Lord for our two boys. Luan has recently started doing tummy time so beautifully, lifting his little feet while lying down, and he’s almost able to sit on his own. He often admires his hands, and has started picking up toys, exploring them, and of course taking them straight to his mouth.

We wouldn’t trade our two boys for the whole world – so, so grateful! 💛

🌟 Warrior of the Week: Meet Luke! 🌟

Luke is 4 years old! 🎉💙

When he was younger, his journey was filled with many health challenges—he was in and out of the hospital almost every six weeks. But as he grew older, things began to change. With the right support—like the TNI protocol and amino acid supplementation tailored to his unique needs—Luke has been able to thrive. ✨

What inspires us most is the way Luke lives out Scripture every day. He is kind, quick to forgive, generous without hesitation, and loves deeply. But don’t mistake his kindness for weakness—this little warrior knows his strength! At just four years old, Luke seems to understand something about life that we as adults can continue to learn from. 🙌

Yes - we are honoured to be called The Lucky Few. 💙

🌟 Warrior of the Week – Meet Tshedi Legae 🌟

“My name is Tshedi Legae, and I am 13 years old. Doctors once told my parents that I wasn’t going to make it… but here I am today, living life to the fullest! 💛

I am a dancer and a swimmer — and I love proving that all things are possible to those who trust in the Lord.” 🙏✨

Tshedi, your strength, joy, and determination inspire us all. Keep shining, keep moving, and keep breaking barriers! 💃🏊‍♀️💛

🌟 Warrior of the Week: Meet Raeesa! 🌟

This beautiful 5-year-old has already shown the world what true strength and sass look like! Diagnosed with Trisomy 21 during pregnancy and later with Autism, Raeesa continues to shine brightly in her own unique way.

With the sass of a teenager and a heart full of joy, Raeesa loves singing, dancing, gardening, and — of course — causing just the right amount of mischief. Her ever-growing vocabulary includes some firm favourites: “NO,” “Go way,” and “chocolate” (a girl after our own hearts! 🍫)

While the journey hasn’t always been easy, Raeesa has filled her family’s life with love, laughter, and an unshakable resilience. She is deeply loved, fiercely brave, and truly lives up to her title as their Warrior Princess 👑✨

Raeesa, your bold spirit and beautiful smile light up every room — keep shining!

🌟 Warrior of the Week: Meet Storm-Lee! 💙

Say hello to the unstoppable Storm-Lee, our bright blue-eyed whirlwind of joy, laughter, and boundless energy! 🌪️💙 At just 4 years old, Storm-Lee is already living up to his name — full of life, curiosity, and adventure.

There’s never a dull moment with this busy, intelligent, and hilariously funny little guy. He keeps his family on their toes with his love for play, exploration… and the occasional dramatic tantrum! 😅

Storm-Lee is thriving in a mainstream nursery school, where he’s loved by his teachers and adored by his friends. When he’s not learning or making people smile, you’ll find him playing ball or blowing bubbles with his furry best friend, Lulu the yorkie 🐶 — and winding down with “Lulu’s show” (a.k.a. Paw Patrol) on the couch. 🛋️🐾

This year, Storm-Lee has taken on swimming lessons and speech therapy like a champ, where his therapists describe him as incredibly “teachable.” What an exciting journey ahead!

His mom gives thanks daily for his strong health and the privilege of walking this beautiful T21 journey together.

Let’s celebrate this bright, brave, loveable little storm. The world is definitely a better place with you in it, Storm-Lee! 💙✨

🌟 Warrior Week Spotlight 🌟

Today we’re celebrating Anja, a beautiful 10-month-old little warrior 💛

Anja recently hit some exciting milestones — she’s now sitting up all by herself and proudly showing off her first two teeth 🦷🦷 (which she loves brushing!). She’s got the heart and determination to crawl, and is working hard on building the muscle strength to get moving 🐾

Every little step is a big victory, and we are so proud of this brave, joyful little girl 💫

This is what it means to parent a child with a disability.

My son, Anderson, scribbles a lot. With limited verbal skills, he’s never told me anything about his drawings. I remember when he was very little, one of his pictures came home with a note from his teacher that said he was drawing “mom”. I lost it. I cried because I never thought to ask him what he was drawing before, I cried because of his intentionality, I cried because I am so proud of him.

This is what it means to be a parent of a child with a disability.

That same year, I had to check Anderson out of school during his lunch period. As I took his hand to lead him away, his classmates yelled, “Bye Anderson!” They continued with their goodbyes as we made the trek all the way across the cafeteria. I told my husband the little anecdote from the day and he started to cry.

This is what it means to parent a child with a disability.

There is a steady undercurrent always flowing beneath the surface. The stream is filled with stress and fear. Stress that we aren’t doing enough, believing enough, stress that others aren’t either. The undercurrent holds both today, tomorrow and the days far, far ahead. The undercurrent is not something we visit every day, but it’s always there.

And it flows and flows and is powered by love.

And then something that may seem ordinary to another is extraordinary to us. And the current bubbles up and shoots through the surface. Because the stress and fear are real and so is the love. When we get these assurances that our kids are okay, that they are happy, we can see how much they have to give and how they are finding their way. And simultaneously, so are we. As we carve out a path together, we start to see our own more clearly.

This path alongside them is unexpected, twisty and lovely. For all of the stress and fear flowing beneath the surface, we arrive at overlooks now and again and the views are stunning. Others may not know the constant undercurrent that rages while parenting a child with a disability, but they also do not access to views we do—and they are extraordinary.

This is what it means to be a parent of a child with a disability. It’s a role, a life, I wouldn’t trade.

🌟 Warrior Week Spotlight: Brave 🌟

Meet Brave — a determined, bright, and joyful young boy who is truly living up to his name 💛

His latest milestone? MATH! 🧮✏️
Brave has been working so hard and can now do addition, subtraction, and even multiplication! This is especially special because, at first, numbers were not his favorite — but he kept going, and we are so proud of his perseverance!

When he’s not solving sums, you’ll likely find Brave: 🐳 Watching his favourite Orca show from Orlando on repeat
🎶 Singing along to worship music
🐄 Hanging out with farm animals (his other big love!)

Brave, your joy and dedication inspire us all. Keep shining, little warrior! 🌈🌟

To Our Incredible Speakers — Thank You. 💛

Our hearts are full as we reflect on the wisdom, love, and truth shared at our Down Syndrome Support Breakfast.

To Antwan — Thank you for pastoring us with courage and faith. Your message reminded us that we can all be BRAVE, because our Savior carries us through every season. Your words were a spiritual anchor and a call to strength.

To Joy — Thank you for equipping us with knowledge that will physically change the lives of our children. Your insights into TNI are invaluable — and we are reminded that we can never stop learning, growing, and doing better for our kids.

To Chané — Thank you for showing us how to better communicate with and support our children. Your practical advice was a gift, helping us build deeper, more understanding connections with our little ones.

To Jolene — You had the entire auditorium in tears as you shared your family’s journey with such honesty, wonder, and emotion. Through your story, we were reminded that even when we ask “Why me?”, there is beauty, purpose, and pride. Thank you for helping us see it.

And to Chené — Thank you for hosting the event with such heart, strength, and grace. Your love for this community could be felt in every word and every moment. You held the space with joy and compassion, and made everyone feel welcome and seen.

To each of you — thank you for your voice, your presence, and your heart. You reminded us that we are not alone. We are a community, united in love, strengthened by faith, and braver together.
