How Thoughts and Emotions Affect Our Stress levels and Our Health

The Mind Body Connection is the link between our thoughts, attitudes and behaviours and our physical health.

For a long-time scientist have understood that our emotions influence our bodies and are now beginning to understand how emotions influence health and longevity.

Do you remember how your body started shaking when you were angry or perhaps nervous? These emotions caused your body to respond.

When we are stressed the stress hormones, adrenaline and cortisol, are released into our bodies, and they give us a short-term energy boost.

The fact that we spend 70% or more of our day in a state of stress means we are continuously releasing these stress hormones into our body.

The release of adrenaline and cortisol is no longer a short-term energy boost. The body stays in a state of stress for the majority of our day.

This results in our body not getting a chance to relax so that it can return to homeostasis allowing the body to return to balance and wellness.

The frequent release of these stress hormones has negative long-term results on the body, including:
• High blood pressure.
• Decreased immune system.
• A slow healing recovery rate.
• Anxiety
• Depression.

Does your thinking influence your actions and emotions?
Research indicates that 80% to 90% of your thoughts are repeated from one day to the next. Therefore, if your daily thoughts and reactions to your environment, which are based on your past experiences, remains unchanged, your actions and emotions will remain unchanged. Everything remains the same as you remain the same. Therefore, could new thoughts lead to new choices, which in turn lead to new behaviours, result in new experiences? And if you change, is it possible that everything around you could change as well?
The way we think, behave and feel is influenced by our belief systems and has an effect on our health.

Negative thinking patterns, like expecting the worst, self-criticism, low self-esteem, jumping to conclusions etc, makes it difficult for the healing process to happen.

It is through accessing your sub-conscious mind that lasting change can take place and the therapy I offer is the tool that allows you to communicate on these deep levels of consciousness to discover, understand, release and re-learn, to bring about your desired change supported from within.
