Shaun Black single-handedly pushed 70kg Hayden Driemeyer up and down hills for 90km to raise awareness on traumatic brain injury. The duo, one of only two wheelchair teams, raised R146 000 for Westville NPO, Headway Natal.

What Is Our Intake Procedure?💁

Family members are invited to make contact with us following an injury/disability to their loved one. 🤕

We will then invite the family and carer to visit Headway where they can view our facilities, meet our staff, and can be shown the resources we have available.
It is recommended that the family bring along any medical information they may have pertaining to the person’s injury/disability. 🏣

An initial assessment time will be set up by the relevant therapist, to access and determine the best course of action for the patient. ⏰ Thereafter regular weekly appointment times will be made available to the family.

Headway will be closed for the week 14 July - 18 July for our annual midyear break so that our therapists and staff can enjoy a well-deserved rest.
Our Charity Shop and Book Shop will also be closed.
We will be back on Monday 21 July, ready to go!

After a stroke the battle isn’t over!
Did you know?
40% of stroke survivors experience aphasia (difficulty speaking or understanding language). Early speech therapy can dramatically improve outcomes! 🧠

2/3 stroke survivors leave the hospital with a form of impairment for example: emotions, mobility, speech, cognition. 🏃🏽‍♂️🗣️🧠
