We’re hosting a Parenting & Neurodiversity Workshop on 16 May and would love for you to join us. This session is designed for parents and teachers who want a better understanding of neurodiverse children and how to support them in a practical, realistic way. We’ll be talking through different types of neurodiversity, unpacking ADHD and autism traits, and exploring concepts like PDA and RSD. We’ll also spend time on what actually works when it comes to parenting and discipline in a neurodiversity-affirming way. Includes access to free electronic resources.

The cost is R350 per person, R600 per couple, and R250 for teachers. If you’re interested, please WhatsApp us on 0796990091 and we’ll send you an invoice to secure your spot.

Is your child bright but still struggling at school?
It might not be about how hard they try — but how their brain processes information.

With BrainRx, we don’t tutor symptoms. We train the brain.

✅ Struggles with reading, maths, attention, or memory?
✅ Frustrated with school despite effort and support?
✅ Falling behind even though they’re intelligent?

We identify and strengthen the cognitive skills that make learning easier — and the results are life-changing.

📈 Backed by neuroscience, BrainRx helps children and adults:
🔹 Boost focus
🔹 Improve memory
🔹 Sharpen processing speed
🔹 Build confidence and independence

🧬 Real change happens when we train the brain at the root level.

Ready to unlock potential? Book a cognitive skills assessment today.

Could it be PDA?
Some kids don’t just resist instructions — they panic in the face of them. That’s not bad behaviour. That’s a PDA profile.

PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance now known as Persistent Drive for Autonomy) is a profile on the autism spectrum. Kids with PDA often:
✅ Avoid everyday demands, even fun ones
✅ Use social strategies to escape expectations
✅ Have intense need for autonomy
✅ Appear controlling or defiant, but feel overwhelmed

These children aren’t being difficult — they’re trying to survive a world that feels too demanding.

💛 At Flourish Counselling, we support PDAers by reducing demands, increasing collaboration, and finding gentle ways in.

💬 Ever suspected PDA in your child or student?
