🐾💙 Aldeia White River & the SPCA 💙🐾

This week our children learned the true meaning of kindness and care! 🌟 The SPCA visited our centre to share about the important work they do to protect and care for animals 🐶🐱🐰. Our children then proudly handed over donations they had collected with so much love and generosity. 🎁💝

This beautiful moment brought holistic learning to life:

💞 Social & Emotional Growth – Building empathy and compassion by understanding the needs of animals and how to care for them.
🧠 Cognitive Development – Learning about animal welfare, safety, and how communities can make a difference.
🙌 Life Skills – Practicing generosity, responsibility, and teamwork in contributing to a meaningful cause.
🎨 Creative Expression – Children shared stories and drawings about their favourite pets and animals. 🐾🖍️

Every year, on September 10th, the world unites to raise awareness, break stigma, and encourage conversations that can save lives.

For parents, today is an important reminder: we play a powerful role in supporting our children’s mental health and emotional wellbeing.

💔 Why young people may struggle with suicidal thoughts

Social media pressures and cyberbullying

Academic stress and future uncertainty

Relationship or identity struggles

Family stress such as divorce or illness

Global issues like climate change or conflict

⚠️ Warning signs to look out for

Withdrawal from friends and activities

🌱 Growing Minds at Aldeia 🌱

At Aldeia, we create a supportive and nurturing space where children can learn, grow, and thrive. Our centres provide structure for families who make use of online providers such as Impaq and Cambrilearn, while we focus on complementing that journey with guidance, routine, and developmental activities.

📘 Learning here is never “just academics.” We strengthen confidence, social skills, creativity, and sensory development so that every child’s progress is balanced and holistic.

✨ This week at Aldeia White River, after learning about reptiles and insects, our children enjoyed a hands-on sensory activity—designing their own reptiles out of sand clay! Activities like these help children connect knowledge with real experiences while also practicing fine motor and imaginative skills.

At Aldeia, learning is a journey we walk alongside each child—celebrating their growth every step of the way. 💛

Understanding our feelings is the first step to managing them! The Zones of Regulation help children (and adults!) recognise their emotions and respond in a healthy way. 💬💛💚💙❤️

🔵 Blue Zone – Sad, tired, sick, bored
🟢 Green Zone – Calm, happy, focused, ready to learn
🟡 Yellow Zone – Frustrated, silly, nervous, wiggly
🔴 Red Zone – Angry, terrified, out of control

🧠 Neurofeedback at Aldeia – More Than Just a Session 🌿

At Aldeia, neurofeedback isn’t an add-on — it’s part of our DNA. Every group activity we do is intentionally designed to improve neurological functioning through skills development, emotional regulation, and brain-body connection.

Over the past term, our children participated in a wide range of activities that support brain development in fun, creative ways. Just look at some of the incredible sessions we had:
