It was exciting today as medical laboratory practitioners in Eastern Province particularly chipata to celebrate our week as professionals.

We celebrated by doing a match past and promotion of our services through conducting few diagnostic tests such as HIV, Syphilis screening, Malaria RDT and blood grouping under a tent that was stationed at great east mall. blood Bank had a chance to facilitate for blood donations too.

I appreciate the Eastern Provincial Health Office (EPHO) laboratory leads for facilitating the program and involving us.
I appreciate my colleagues who were part, together we made it more exciting especially that it was my first time.

I hope to participate again next year with a great scope of activities.

WE ARE SOCIAL BEINGS.

When we engage into a conversation with people we socialize, when we read books in solitude we socialize with the writers, on social media we socialize with content and so when we listen to music, watch movies etc.
Unless in the grave you are completely alone.

We work to support social activities, we need a better health to perform social activities. All our dreams to travel, have a better home and accommodate grandchildren are, so we can socialize.

To some extent, for one to enjoy moments they need to invest in proper social skills, one of which is that of verbal communication.
Verbal communication can bring peers to close, neutral or distant grounds.

Learning how to control your verbal communication can play huge role in reducing one's frustrations at a work place, as well as put you on the neutral side of work politics. My work place is sometimes tense but it is one of the humorous places you will never leave without laughing on each day.

Invest in your control of conversions regardless of your personality and communicate with intention.

WE LOOK BACK IN THE LENS OF THE PAST 11 MONTHS.

One of the moments we ensured that in the medical laboratory there is quality of diagnostics.

So before gaining weight in marriage 😂😂😂, I had an opportunity in the first quarter of this year to guide Mwami Mission Hospital Laboratory (M.M.H.L) on the effective way of handling External Quality Assurance.

(M.M.H.L) Led by Barbra Namunji Susiku Is one of the facilities that grew quickly in developing and implementing quality management systems under the certification program organized by MoH.

In the same time I had a chance to meet Kobby a friend I knew from my high school friend at nipa during my college and it brought the sense of old school days. We mocked his gaining of weight in marriage not knowing I was going to like him.

Medical labs are committed to ensure there is centered patient care management.

SO YOU MADE RESOLUTIONS AT THE BEGINNING OF 2024?

SO WHAT'S THE STATUS NOW ?

Answer to yourselves, for me I honestly did not make any.

In the past, I would make resolutions at the beginning of each year just because I needed to be ready to answer the question in case I was asked but the worse part was to say I did not achieve any at the end of those years so this year I decided not to bother making any.

IT IS THAT TIME OF THE YEAR WE GET TO RETROSPECT.

perhaps, you guys have already started, some of you are feeling excited you made strides and met your goals. For you who did not work on or meet your goals do not feel very bad because your goals probably did not align with the things your daily life is based on.
So look back through the lens of the past 11 months you will find things that you made progress on, it will teach you to appreciate God.

As one who did not make any resolution but with one motto; " The process of continuous becoming," I found myself doing activities that improved me. This last week of 2024 let's retrospect and see which things we achieved and let them be the motivation to make resolutions in a better way than before.

Mine is the area of the laboratory 🔬 I will scan through the fields of the past 11 months.

WITH US IN THE LABORATORY BUT AHEAD OF US.

A story of a colleague who never saw in himself as a head of department among the biomed folks addressed as "incharge" to be the dream of his life.
why does it feel we borrowed this word from the nurses? 😅 well story for another day.

in the days of routine work with a colleague we shared the same qualification, we were not in the same light to see and pursue the great that lies ahead of us. many at times people desire to be in office and be on an advantage of attending workshops but Alex saw it differently.

He inputted value to himself by studying more and publishing more research work that contributes to healthcare provision today. I can not state more to the fact that I was impressed while we applied to present at the just passed prestigious scientific biomedical symposium held in Livingston, he was invited to do his presentation. this means there is more story of him you need to hear.

But come to think of it, isn't that value as a medical laboratory scientist?
isn't that making it in biomed where some regret and say they can't recommend their siblings?
who pushed Alex to where he is?

we intend in future to bring you stories of those who handle the fraternity with purpose then make it, to inspire and motivate you to grow so together we add value to the diagnostic department.

Alex will one day share how to rise from a common Evelyn Hone College DF to a becoming Dr Chota (PHD) at the University of Johannesburg just in five years.
