Behind the inspiration of bringing young men and women from different sectarian belonging and background with divergent views narrowed to formulating a bold and articulate youth network that is anchored by agents of change that are determined to champion the desired social political and economic transformation. Motivated by other existing youth platforms such as Global platform Zambia, Kenya as well as other youth hubs around the globe, Nakon Youth Hub seeks to empower youths to be responsible citizens especially in making informed and development oriented decisions in various civic and political spaces. Given the fact that the district and region has no youth friendly spaces where young people can meet and share ideas such as recreation facilities necessitated a number of youths to engage in illicit acts. With Such a background, one of the youth led organization by the name of Muchinga Corridors of Environmental Management and health care collaborated with Activista Nakonde chapter to establish the first ever Youth Hub in the district and the region thereby providing youths with a friendly space where they can host different number of interactive programs with their duty bearers and ultimately provide alternatives as well as suggest best practices in the development agenda. With the core objective of empowering youth’s through trainings and capacity building in areas of youth Activism, campaigning, advocacy and lobbying, leadership development as well as entrepreneurship skill set development thereby contributing to the attainment of the global 2030 agenda, 2063 African agenda and for the country to attain its developmental goes without living any one behind it is extremely important to maximize and utilize the demographic boom that the country has. In doing so, the Nakonde youths seeks to change the narrative that has been prevailing communities particularly in rural settings where the older generation hardly consider youths in setting up a developmental agenda. Additionally the hub endeavors inspire female youths in combatting the myth of saying female youths cannot be instrumental in leadership or any forms of engagement. Since its inception Nakon Youth Hub has been hosting a number of events ranging from youths, women and various grouping within the district. On some occasions the hub has also been hosting youth led organizations from the east Africa particularly Tanzania given the fact that Nakonde district is a boarder town.
