🕯️ A Call for Urgent Action on Student Welfare in Zambia.

In recent days, our nation has been shaken by the heartbreaking loss of two university students whose futures were filled with promise. Their sudden passing has not only left their families and friends in mourning but has also left the entire country asking difficult questions.

These were not just students. They were young men preparing to serve their communities, contribute to national development and carry the dreams of families who sacrificed for their education. Their loss is more than personal, it is a national tragedy and a wake-up call.

Every year, thousands of young Zambians leave home with one mission: to study hard, graduate and build a better future. They carry the hopes of parents, siblings and entire communities. Yet, too often, their journeys are overshadowed by insecurity, mental health struggles and systemic neglect.

This raises an urgent question we can no longer ignore:

Are our campuses truly safe for students?

As a nation, we cannot continue to treat student welfare as an afterthought. Universities are not just centers of learning, they are homes for young people during their most vulnerable years. Protecting students means protecting the future of Zambia itself.

For real change, we must go beyond words and take concrete action.

Let these recent losses not be in vain. Let them ignite a movement for safer and more supportive learning environments. Every student deserves to feel safe and seen, not to leave home with dreams, only for those dreams to be cut short.

To every university, policymaker and community leader: the time to act is now.

👉 Talk It Zambia stands with every student, every parent and every community calling for urgent action on student welfare. Together, we can protect the future of our nation.

🌍 Talk It Zambia | Spotlighting Young Creative Entrepreneurs 🎨💡

At Talk It Zambia, we believe in amplifying the voices of young people who are not only shaping culture but also driving entrepreneurship through their talents. Today, we celebrate Laban Mwaba, a Zambian visual artist and creative entrepreneur whose practice blends art, identity and innovation.

Working with charcoal and pastel, Laban has built a unique brand of realism that tells stories of cultural heritage and contemporary social narratives. His journey is a reminder that art is also enterprise, a pathway for youth to transform passion into sustainable livelihoods.

From platforms like the FNB Visual Arts Competition to international recognition by South African artist Nasty C, Laban has shown how Zambian creatives can expand their reach beyond borders while staying rooted in authenticity.

Through his artistry, Laban is not just creating drawings, he’s building an entrepreneurial legacy that proves young Zambians can thrive in the creative economy.

✨ At Talk It Zambia, we stand for exactly this, empowering youth voices, nurturing creativity and celebrating entrepreneurship as a tool for lasting impact.

We are proud to spotlight Laban Mwaba, an artist and entrepreneur, who continues to put Zambia on the global map. 🇿🇲

🌟 Youth Leading Change! 🌟

The Khoul Foundation, founded in 2022 by Khoul Mweemba, a passionate youth with a vision for a better Zambia is creating safe spaces and opportunities for the Girl Child in rural communities.

The foundation focuses on raising awareness about the dangers of early marriages, teenage pregnancies, period stigma, menstrual poverty and other challenges faced by young girls.

Its main objective is simple yet powerful: to uplift girls, keep them in school and protect them from abuse, discrimination and intimidation, so they can stay focused on their dreams.

At Talk It Zambia, we proudly recognize and celebrate young people like Khoul who are stepping up to lead positive change. 💙

👉 You too can be part of the change! Follow and support the Khoul Foundation as they continue empowering girls and transforming communities. Together, let’s build a Zambia where every girl has the right to safety, education and dignity. ✨

On 3rd July, our Co-founder Sula Nyangwe had the honour of spending the day in Kapiri Mposhi, inspiring and educating a group of bright, energetic girls on essential life skills from menstrual hygiene and personal safety to the importance of education.

Sharing knowledge and resources was just the beginning , her true gift was the love, motivation and encouragement she poured into every interaction. As Scripture reminds us:
“For God so loved the world that He gave…”
On this day, she gave back and in return, she was deeply touched by the joy and enthusiasm she received.

A heartfelt moment came when Sula met Madam Mutinta, a passionate special needs teacher, who introduced her to two amazing pupils. Watching them grow more comfortable and excited to engage was truly heartwarming.

🙏🏽 Thank you to the Rodwell Foundation for making Talk It Zambia a part of such a powerful initiative.
🙏🏽 Gratitude to Mrs Mwaba, the Deputy Head, for her warm welcome and support.
🙏🏽 And to everyone who contributed to this project, may God richly bless you. ❤️

This is what Talk It Zambia stands for, real conversations, real impact.
