On Saturday, 24th January 2026, the Co-Founder and President of Talk It Initiative, Mr. Sylvester Simutowe, attended the ZIHRM-CBU Meet & Greet following an invitation from the President of ZIHRM-CBU, Mr. Mbalendo Longwe.

Representing Talk It Initiative, Mr. Simutowe engaged with the young people present and shared a powerful message on the importance of discovering oneself while still at university. He emphasized that university is not only a place for academic growth, but a critical phase for self-awareness, purpose discovery, and personal development.

He further highlighted that leadership is not about holding a position or being in power. One does not need a title to lead. Leadership begins from within. He reminded the audience that we all carry the “L” within us, which stands for Leadership and all that is required is the willingness to discover ourselves and act on it.

Young people are not just the leaders of tomorrow, we are the builders of today.
From our communities to national spaces, youth ideas, energy, and integrity are critical for development. But real impact starts with awareness, responsibility, and action.

At Talk It Initiative, we encourage young people to:
Think critically
Engage responsibly
Lead with purpose

Change doesn’t happen by chance.
It happens when informed young people decide to get involved.
📢 Your voice can shape policies.
📢 Your actions can shape communities.

Let’s talk about the Zambia we want to build, together.

Digital technology is no longer a luxury for young people, it is a necessity. From access to online learning and health information to opportunities for innovation, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement, technology is shaping how young people think, learn, and lead.
When used responsibly, digital tools empower young people to acquire skills, share ideas, access public services, and create solutions to real community challenges. However, the digital divide, misinformation, and limited digital literacy continue to hold many young people back.
At Talk It Initiative, we believe that equipping young people with the right digital skills and awareness is key to building informed, healthy, and empowered future leaders. The conversation must go beyond access to technology and focus on meaningful, safe, and impactful use.

📱 Let’s use technology to empower, not limit, young people.

Youth leadership is not defined by titles, positions, or how old you are. It is defined by responsibility, integrity, and the courage to speak up and act for positive change.
Today’s young people are not just leaders of tomorrow, they are leaders of today. In our communities, schools, and institutions, youth have the power to influence decisions, challenge injustice, and create solutions to real problems.
True youth leadership means:
Leading with values, not popularity
Serving the community, not personal interests
Being informed, engaged, and accountable
At Talk It Initiative, we believe that when young people are empowered, listened to, and supported, societies grow stronger and more inclusive.
The future is not waiting. It is being built now, by the youth.

Let’s Talk It. Let’s Lead It.
Remember your voice is our future.

Silence has cost us too much.
Ideas go unheard, problems grow in the dark, and potential is lost, not because solutions don’t exist, but because conversations never start.
Talk It Initiative exists to challenge that silence. We believe that when people speak openly about real issues, education, livelihoods, relationships, leadership, and personal growth, communities become stronger and more intentional.
Change does not always begin with money or power.
Sometimes, it begins with one honest conversation.
This is a space to question, to learn, to unlearn, and to grow together.
Let’s stop normalizing silence.
Let’s normalize dialogue.

Talk It Initiative is a youth-led social impact organization focused on creating safe spaces for dialogue, awareness, and action on issues affecting our communities. We believe that meaningful conversations can drive understanding, empower individuals, and inspire real change.
Our work centers on advocacy, mental health awareness, leadership development, civic engagement, and youth empowerment. Through discussions, campaigns, community programs, and partnerships, we encourage people—especially young people, to speak up, be informed, and take responsibility for shaping a better society.
At Talk It Initiative, we do not just talk for the sake of talking. We talk to educate, to challenge harmful norms, and to promote solutions that improve lives. Our mission is to turn voices into impact and conversations into action.
