In 1947, T.L. and Daisy Osborn, missionaries that failed in India, visited a William Branham meeting in Oregon. Branham was praying for a little deaf girl and was quietly but forceful commanding the spirit of deafness to leave her. When Branham snapped his fingers the little girl began to hear immediately, and in the same moment, Osborn sitting in the audience, heard a voice say to him " If he can do it, you can do it!" Not long afterwards he began holding miracle services of his own and healings were manifesting.

I FIRST HEARD OF T.B. JOSHUA IN THE 1950s...
Destined to be one of God’s great Generals, Evangelist C.S. Upthegrove from Florida, USA, is a living legend whose contribution to spread the Gospel has been breathtaking. Former Pastor of Miracle Valley Church, he served under another General, A.A. Allen. God has since greatly used him to advance His Kingdom here on earth. In this exclusive piece, he shares with Read Us his experiences in the service of the Lord and his encounter with the man of God, Prophet T.B. Joshua. He writes:

In my day, miracles were on the menu at any given time. We always praised God, as soon as blind eyes were opened or a cancer was suddenly gone. We were in a marvellous time of reaping. So many ministers of God had prepared the way for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on those who so desperately needed it.

During the 1930s through the 50s, people were trying to recover from what was later known as the Great Depression. Pentecost had received a new grace, since the Azusa Street Revival in 1906, not to mention those who had already been awakened during the turn of the new century. Great men and women of God sprung out of every corner of the globe, bringing in tremendous signs, wonders and miracles.

The intensity began to wane around 1909, as the move of God splintered into many factions and denominations. But people did not want to lose the high ground they had gained. Feeling the decline, the intercessors picked up their positions again.

Around 1947, a new voice began to arise. This was like nothing the Church had ever heard of since Bible days. Many weary ministers and evangelists who were on the verge of giving up their ministries due to lack of God's manifest presence and power, became quickened and alive with new hope and fervour. They began to see the power of God on a level unknown for hundreds of years, at least not known to the masses.

This gentle, soft-spoken man stepped out of obscurity and took the world by surprise. William Branham, with complete accuracy, could look into the entirety of anyone's life and give exact details of even the smallest things through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Whole schools of deaf children would pass through a prayer line and be healed. The miracles and prophetic words were astounding.

Out of his ministry grew what would later be called the ‘Latter Rain Movement’. Oral Roberts attended his meetings and took on the challenge to pray for the sick. T.L. Osborn was ready to walk away from the mission field because after years in the service of the Lord, he felt fruitless. He watched this small man from Kentucky tell people in great detail things that no one else knew and as he witnessed a child with no bones in his legs suddenly develop bones, he had one thought: ‘I need this impartation.’

As the fire came down, a worldwide revival began but by the beginning of the 1960s, it too had begun to fade. In my own ministry, the miraculous was always present but the worldwide stage had closed its ear. You see, it's not enough to have great meetings and even have God sweep through a city. God is always looking to move onto the eternal high ground that will send the Word to every nation as one great voice in unison.

It was in this desire to see God’s glory fill the earth that my daughter, Evangelist Brenda Upthegrove Price, began her travail of soul like Hannah of old: "Oh God, the Eli system has taken over Your people. There is sin at the door and Eli no longer confronts his sons. Lord, if You don't send a Samuel that will put things back in order, then You will surely leave us without a voice on the earth".

Being a prayer warrior, my daughter began to cry to God day and night: "Lord, let me see the wells of these great men of God that I have known begin to flow through the nations of the earth. Please, bring back Your glory to this generation and to the United States of America".

In the spirit of that prayer, God began to direct her. One night, in desperation, she went to YouTube and simply typed in the word, 'Miracles'. One name kept popping up: 'T.B. Joshua'. She started to search everything she could find about this ministry but he (T.B. Joshua) was in Africa.

"Lord," she prayed, "I would love to be in his services". Two weeks later, she read an advertisement for an Anointing Water Conference that would be a mere three hours from her home. How could it happen in this state and in a city so close to where she lived? During the night, God spoke to her saying: "This is the answer to your prayers. I will open the wells of these great moves upon the earth and in your nation. This will be the death of the Eli system and the beginning of the restoration of My power".

A few weeks after the Anointing Water Conference, Wise Man Harry came. This added to her excitement. While there, Emmanuel TV interviewed her and she briefly gave the account written above. God supernaturally brought us to the attention of Prophet T.B. Joshua.

After talking to the Emmanuel TV team, we were received as special guests in Lagos, Nigeria. I will never forget the invitation to visit The SCOAN. It was the beginning of a wonderful time of encouragement and mutual love and respect. I was 83 years old, and I had already claimed Psalm 71:18: "Now, when I am old and grey headed, oh God, forsake me not, until I have shown Thy strength unto this generation and Thy power to everyone who is to come". When I caught the long flight to Lagos, Nigeria, I was thanking God all the way, because I knew I was in the centre of His will. Too often, we have lived in His permissive will but thank God for the feeling; I was in His divine perfect will. Since that meeting with the Prophet, we were added to his family. Now, I truly feel that he is my son and his family is my very own family. We thank God for Prophet T.B. Joshua, the ministry of The Synagogue Church Of All Nations, and Emmanuel TV.

I have been in the deliverance ministry since I was 15 years old and my life seemed almost complete, since I had seen miracles all over the world with Great Generals from the 40s, 50s and 60s, including pastoring a great church in Miracle Valley, Arizona under the direction of Apostle A.A. Allen. The one thing that I had not seen fulfilled was a prophecy that he gave to me personally.

One day, while he and I were riding along in his car, A.A. Allen turned to me and said: "Brother Upthegrove, I may not be living when this comes to pass but I believe you will". He began to describe a time coming when the Azusa Street Revival in 1906, under the direction of William Seymour, would be just a beginning of what God was going to do.

Please, hear me now - I know about the miraculous. But from the moment my feet walked on the holy ground of The SCOAN, excitement began to build in my soul as I saw the desperation of the thousands of sick and afflicted from all over Africa and other nations. They came together for a miracle. I knew this was it.

I had the privilege of watching the Wise Men lay hands on the sick and cast out demons. God spoke to my spirit and said: "What you are seeing is the prophecy being fulfilled in this place. I will pour out My Spirit in this place". I began to weep. The following Sunday, Prophet T.B. Joshua was so gracious to me. He knew by the Spirit that I was supposed to speak for a few minutes to the thousands in attendance.

Out of all my friends, former pastors and churches, missionaries and whomever I have known in my 70 years of ministry, I was so moved by the fulfilled prophecies of Prophet T.B. Joshua and the miracles of healing, along with demons being cast out, that I knew this was that which was spoken in prophecy to me by A.A. Allen.

Recently, I had the privilege of joining my spiritual son, T.B. Joshua in Cali, Colombia, with approximately 50,000 people in attendance each night. In all my 70 years in this ministry including being in service with great Generals of the faith, Oral Roberts, Catherine Kuhlman, William Branham, Jack Coe, A.A. Allen and many others, I had never seen so many people get out of wheelchairs and give up their crutches, walking and praising God for healings and great deliverances.

Thank God, I have lived long enough to see the promise come to pass. This Prophet of God, T.B. Joshua, is so anointed by the Spirit that many times, all he has to do is speak the Word and the sick are healed.

I am so blessed to be part of The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations family.

God bless all of you.

DON’T BE A JACK OF ALL TRADES
God didn't call us all to do the same thing. Sometimes we ministers try to be a jack-of-all-trades and we become the master of none. We try to do too much, we spread ourselves too thin, and the anointing's not there to do it.
That's the reason people get in trouble: They try to function in an office to which God didn't call them. They do something just because somebody else is doing it. And that is very dangerous.
I remember something that Brother Howard Carter said. He was a great teacher and a great man of God. I never knew him personally, but I had an opportunity to hear him preach once in Texas. After the service, I met him. He was about 70 at the time, and he lived to be over 80.
While we were talking, a woman came up to him, asking, "Brother Carter, would you pray for the healing of my child?"
He answered, "Go get my wife to lay hands on her. God doesn't use me much along that line, but nearly everybody she lays hands on gets healed, and nearly everybody I lay hands on gets baptized with the Holy Spirit." (That's a good combination, isn't it?)
I'd seen him take 19 people into a side room that night, speak a few words to them, lay hands on them, and all 19 of them began to speak in tongues the minute he touched them.
He said, "That's my ministry. That's where my anointing is. My wife's anointing is to lay hands on the sick."
When the woman left to look for Sister Carter, Brother Carter turned to us preachers and said, "Of course, I could have prayed in faith for her child, but if somebody's anointed to minister that way, it's a whole lot better."

Yes, he could have prayed the prayer of faith—any one of us ministers standing there that night could have prayed the prayer of faith and laid hands on the child. The laying on of hands belongs to all believers according to Mark 16:17,18.

But what was Brother Carter recognizing? He was recognizing that in the ministry some of us are anointed to do one thing and some are anointed to do another, and if we'll excel where our anointing is, we'll be a greater blessing to the Body of Christ.
No one is going to do it all. We need each other. I praise God for every ministry called of God and anointed with the Holy Spirit.

YOU FAILED TO PAY THE PRICE”
By the fall of 1949, the Allens began to hear stories about miraculous healing meetings that were taking place. The evangelists conducting the meetings weren’t necessarily outstanding preachers. In fact, many preachers were more eloquent in their sermon delivery than these evangelists, but when these healing evangelists prayed for the sick, miracles happened so quickly, no one could count them. The Allens refused to believe half of the stories they were told, but their curiosity was aroused.
One day, a friend gave Allen a copy of the publication The Voice of Healing. After reading it, Allen said, “As I read its pages, I laughed in ridicule. Fanatics, I thought, as I closed the magazine and laid it away in my study.”15 Some of his church members came from these tent meetings with glowing reports, but Allen discounted them and felt they were drifting into fanaticism.

Personally, I don’t believe that was his true heart in the matter. He might have spoken those words, but I believe he was incredibly stirred inside, because he knew this was his own call being manifested before his very eyes.
However, it is possible to become so backslidden in one’s calling that the things one once held as precious and attainable are now a distant memory.
Not long after this, some minister friends persuaded Allen to go to Dallas and attend an Oral Roberts tent revival. Along the way, he remembered the experience he had with God in his prayer closet many years ago, recalling the thirteen things that stood in his way of walking into the miraculous. Being out of his spiritual office and trying instead to be a pastor had caused him to shelve the vision God had given him.

As he approached Dallas, he became more and more aware that there he would witness the very thing God had called him to do. “But I had never paid the price for God’s miracle-working power in my life,” he added.16
He was captivated by the tent meeting and by the power of God being displayed through Roberts, feeling as though he was living in the book of Acts. Miracle after miracle took place as he watched, but it wasn’t fanaticism; it was God’s miracle-working power.
As he sat watching the prayer line, he again heard the voice of God say, “My son, eleven years ago you sought My face.... Eleven years ago I called you into the same ministry.... But you failed to pay the price and to make the consecration. Therefore, you have failed to do this thing which I have called you to do.” With tears streaming down his face, Allen lifted his hands and cried out, “Lord, I’ll do it!”

GOING, GOING, GONE!
Two Sundays later, he resigned from his pastorate. He would have left the first Sunday after his return, but his wife asked him to wait and make sure he was doing the right thing.
Immediately, pastors from all over the nation called for his services as an evangelist, and in less than a month, a new pastor occupied the pulpit. The Allens kept the Corpus Christi church as their home base and traveled out from there.
They moved all their possessions into a house trailer, and in less than three months after his “breakdown,” A. A. Allen was on the revival trail.
Allen began studying the list of thirteen requirements the Lord had given him eleven years earlier. He couldn’t believe all the time that had been lost. Eleven years! As he studied the list, he noticed that numbers twelve and thirteen had not been accomplished in his life, but that every other item had been marked through. Finally, with great determination, he was able to mark through the last two. After that, noticeable miracles began to take place through his ministry.

In May of 1950, Allen sent his first report to The Voice of Healing magazine, the result of a great campaign in Oakland, California. Of the meeting, he wrote, “Many say this is the greatest revival in the history of Oakland.... Night after night, the waves of Divine Glory so sweep over the congregation that many testify of being healed while sitting in their seats.”18
In 1951, Allen made a great leap. He decided to purchase a tent and advertise himself as a “healing” revivalist. He heard of a tent for sale, equipped with lighting, seats, a platform, and a public address system, all for $8,500!
But he had only $1,500, so he called the minister and made the offer of $1,500 as a down payment. The owner told him that another preacher had just called and offered the full price, but he would pray about the matter and call him the next day.
The next day, when Allen called the man, he wasn’t surprised to learn that the owner had decided to give the tent to him with a $1,500 down payment. The rest was to be paid in $100 payments, as Allen could afford, so the tent was his!
On July 4, 1951, the A. A. Allen Revival Tent went up for its first campaign, in Yakima, Washington.

A MAN DIED IN MY MEETING.
- R.W SHAMBACH
I'll never forget I had that turn up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. And a man died on the fourth row. I mean, he lost control of his bladder. lady next to him, loosen his tie. And he was out. I mean, I didn't know what happened. I run through four rows of chairs. I lay my hands on him and I rebuked death in the name of Jesus called His spirit back into his body, I slapped him alongside the head he would wake up, I called ten men taking him behind the platform. He won't stop me from Preaching.

Putting behind the platform I went over Preaching I lay hands on 500 People that night I went home to that hotel, and three o'clock in the morning I woke up and I said oh my lord did that man. I forgot all about the dead man.

I got dressed and go down and see what I could do. But then I'll be right back down and get the nightwatchman take care of him , he saw the Holy Ghost too.

Back to church and next night and I said I want three of the happiest people under this tent to jump to your feet and come down here and tell me why you'rea happy.

A well dressed man came in and hold the microphone in front of us.
what you're happy ?
he said; I died dead last night.
he looked at me I was confused.
He said, don't you remember me.
I said no, sir.
He said I was sitting in the fourth row. And I had my fifth heart attack. The doctor said if I had my fifth heart attack, I'm gone. And he said my soul was out of my body. And he said I saw you run them through those four rows, a chair for four rows of chairs and you you put your hand on me you call my spirit back into my body. He said Listen to me, preacher. He said I was on my way to hell last night.
But he said you saved me from the flames of hell, My Spirit came back into my body.

He's telling this under the tent, and he said But brother shambach I woke up behind the tent how did I get back there .
I said go on with the testimony forget about
The tent.

Don't be afraid to lay hands on the death, say You have no business being here. Jesus is the author of life and am speaking life into you.

In this last days people are gonna bring caskets into our services. We got to see resurrection power. God's gonna do a great work of signs, wonders. Miracles, can you shout the name of Jesus, I declare that the spirit of fear has lost its hold on your life and all your fears are gone!
