TIMA Innovations is a Zambian-based social enterprise dedicated to restoring degraded land, reviving ecosystems, and creating sustainable livelihoods for communities most affected by climate change. Founded on the belief that environmental restoration and human development go hand in hand, we focus on solutions that heal the land while empowering the people who depend on it.
Our work begins with restoring degraded soils through climate-smart practices such as agroforestry, organic soil enrichment, and reforestation using indigenous trees. By combining modern technology with traditional knowledge, we transform barren landscapes into fertile grounds that support food production, biodiversity, and carbon sequestration. This approach not only combats deforestation and desertification but also improves resilience to climate shocks such as droughts and floods.
At TIMA Innovations, we recognize that true restoration must also be social. We actively engage local communities—particularly youth and women—through training, cooperative models, and green entrepreneurship opportunities. By equipping people with the skills and resources to adopt sustainable farming, tree nursery management, and eco-business ventures, we turn land restoration into a driver of income generation and food security.
Technology plays a central role in our model. We use digital mapping, mobile-based monitoring, and community-driven data collection to track restoration progress, ensure transparency, and optimize impact. This ensures every tree planted, every hectare restored, and every farmer trained contributes to measurable climate action.
The impact of our work is already visible: communities once struggling with degraded farmland are now cultivating nutritious food, restoring water catchments, and earning incomes from eco-friendly products. Beyond environmental benefits, TIMA Innovations is restoring dignity and hope—proving that land restoration is not just about trees and soil, but about rebuilding futures.
Our vision is bold: to restore thousands of hectares of land in Zambia and beyond, positioning restoration as both an environmental necessity and an economic opportunity. With YECO’s support, TIMA Innovations will scale its efforts, strengthen community ownership, and create a model of land restoration that is inclusive, innovative, and transformative.
At its core, TIMA Innovations is about people healing the land, and the land healing people.
