Linda C. Kasonde📖 “Women, Resilience, and the Will to Lead” by Linda Kasonde

As part of my ongoing journey to read 30+ books this year, I recently had the privilege of diving into this powerful and thought-provoking book written by my namesake — Linda Kasonde. 💙

There’s something deeply meaningful about reading a book that not only shares your name but also mirrors the values you hold close — resilience, authenticity, courage, and purposeful leadership. Through her voice, Linda Kasonde paints a vivid picture of what it truly means to lead with integrity in environments that often challenge one’s strength and vision.

Each page spoke to my soul — reminding me that leadership is not simply about occupying a position, but about creating impact, challenging norms, and staying true to one’s principles even when the path feels uncertain. Her journey reflects the reality that resilience is not just about standing tall after the storm but about finding purpose and clarity within it.

Reading this masterpiece has reignited my belief that every woman possesses a will to lead — a quiet strength that transforms adversity into growth and vision into action. It reminded me that leadership rooted in compassion is not a weakness, but a profound source of influence and transformation.

This book was more than an inspiring read; it felt personal — like a conversation between two women who share not just a name, but also a dream: to lead fearlessly, live purposefully, and leave a legacy of impact. 🌸

💙 From Code to Creativity — My Journey with FNB Across Borders 💛

It began with an incredible opportunity to be part of the FNB App Academy 2025, where I earned a certificate in Full Stack development.
That experience opened my eyes to the power of innovation, problem-solving, and digital transformation — values that truly lie at the heart of FNB. 💻✨

Not long after, another beautiful chapter unfolded — I was honored as one of the Zambia @61 winners for my heartfelt poem celebrating our nation’s journey toward Next. 🇿🇲✍🏽

These two milestones — one rooted in technology, the other in creativity — remind me that growth knows no boundaries.
Today, I’m even more grateful as I’ve collected my prize from FNB Zambia — a beautifully branded power bank, Bluetooth headset, and glass cup. I absolutely love them! 💙💛

Every gesture from FNB reflects more than appreciation — it represents empowerment.
To FNB South Africa, thank you for equipping young Africans with digital skills that shape the future.
To FNB Zambia, thank you for celebrating creativity and amplifying the voices that tell our nation’s story with pride and purpose.

Together, you show that transformation happens when opportunity meets passion.
I’m proud to be part of this journey — where Next is truly Now. 💫

FNB ZambiaI'm deeply humbled and overjoyed to receive this recognition from FNB Zambia. 🥹💛 Thank you for giving a voice to
creativity — for creating a space where words can inspire, heal, and shape the future of our nation.

When I wrote this poem, I poured out my heart for Zambia — a land of resilience, beauty, and rising hope. 🇿🇲 It was a reflection of our journey as a people who never stop believing, never stop building, and never stop moving toward Next.

This moment reminds me that every word we write, every dream we dare to chase, and every story we share has the power to touch lives. To every young person out there — especially every girl child — keep writing, keep dreaming, and keep shining. The world needs your voice. 🌟

My deepest gratitude to FNB Zambia Zambia for this honour and for continuing to invest in creativity, empowerment, and the spirit of our people. May we all continue to rise together — because Next is truly Now. ✨

🎨✨ My Next is Now – Through Words ✨🎨

I just came across FNB’s Visual Art Competition under the theme “My Next is Now”, and I feel inspired to encourage all young artists aged 13–20 to participate. 🌟

Art is everywhere... in the colors we see, the shapes we create, and the stories we tell. Some sketch with pencils ✏️, some paint with brushes 🎨, and some design with imagination 💡. Each stroke, each line, each color choice is a reflection of your vision, creativity, and voice.

While I express my creativity through words, I deeply admire the magic that visual art creates. Art can spark imagination, provoke thought, and move people in ways words sometimes cannot. 🖋️

“My Next is Now” is more than a theme, it’s a call to action. Your next opportunity, your next idea, your next expression of creativity starts today. To all young artists: this is your moment to explore your talent, push boundaries, and show the world what you can create. Your sketches, your paintings, your designs... they are not just art; they are stories, emotions, and statements waiting to be shared.

So, embrace this opportunity, let your passion shine, and remember: your next is now. Every stroke you make, every idea you share, and every work of art you create is part of your journey...a journey that can inspire others and open doors to new possibilities.

Listen now 🔊 Looking Ahead: How Social Workers are Shaping the Future of Mental Health.

Last week we were joined by a panel of expert speakers – including Emma Shearer from headspace, Rachel Higginson from Stride Mental Health, and Laura Fletcher from Grand Pacific Health – who led an important discussion on how social workers are at the heart of prevention, early intervention, and building strong, connected communities.

Together, we reflected on what’s working, what’s needed, and how we can support one another to shape a future where mental health support is more accessible, and built to last.
