🎨✨ My Next is Now – Through Words ✨🎨

I just came across FNB’s Visual Art Competition under the theme “My Next is Now”, and I feel inspired to encourage all young artists aged 13–20 to participate. 🌟

Art is everywhere... in the colors we see, the shapes we create, and the stories we tell. Some sketch with pencils ✏️, some paint with brushes 🎨, and some design with imagination 💡. Each stroke, each line, each color choice is a reflection of your vision, creativity, and voice.

While I express my creativity through words, I deeply admire the magic that visual art creates. Art can spark imagination, provoke thought, and move people in ways words sometimes cannot. 🖋️

“My Next is Now” is more than a theme, it’s a call to action. Your next opportunity, your next idea, your next expression of creativity starts today. To all young artists: this is your moment to explore your talent, push boundaries, and show the world what you can create. Your sketches, your paintings, your designs... they are not just art; they are stories, emotions, and statements waiting to be shared.

So, embrace this opportunity, let your passion shine, and remember: your next is now. Every stroke you make, every idea you share, and every work of art you create is part of your journey...a journey that can inspire others and open doors to new possibilities.

Listen now 🔊 Looking Ahead: How Social Workers are Shaping the Future of Mental Health.

Last week we were joined by a panel of expert speakers – including Emma Shearer from headspace, Rachel Higginson from Stride Mental Health, and Laura Fletcher from Grand Pacific Health – who led an important discussion on how social workers are at the heart of prevention, early intervention, and building strong, connected communities.

Together, we reflected on what’s working, what’s needed, and how we can support one another to shape a future where mental health support is more accessible, and built to last.

This year, I set a personal goal to read 30+ books as part of my journey of learning, healing, and growth. Each book I select is intentional because I believe words have the power to transform the mind and heal the heart. 📚✨

When I came across Dr. Maria Akani’s book “How Can I Make the Pain Go Away,” I felt an instant connection. The title alone speaks so deeply to me, as it reflects questions I have often carried within. Pain is something we all face in different forms, but finding ways to heal and keep moving forward is not always easy. 🌹

I truly desire to have this book as part of my 30+ reading journey this year. I believe it will not only enrich my personal healing but also equip me with wisdom to encourage and inspire others going through similar challenges.

It would be such a blessing if I could be gifted a copy. Thank you, Dr. Maria Akani, for using your voice and experience to light the path for others. 🙏💙
