Monitoring Zambia Reports on the case of a killed pedestrian, as an Emergency officer it is even more painful.
Fellow Citizenry the feeling is bad especially to the family and close friends.
Here is My opinion on the case.
1. RTSA to enhance the restoration of sign post in all roads. Having driven the streets of lusaka I would confirm the safety of pedestrian and drivers is not certain in some areas due to lack of sign post.
2. A filing station ⛽ is a dangerous place due the flammability of the commodity, statistically we have read and seeing filling going ablaze. Can we normalize having first aiders as attendants on these stations. The Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and we'll equiped first AID boxes must always be in place at these areas in such cases. Help should have beed rendered to the victim.
Further.
3. The Ministry of Local Government and Ministry of Health should work to normalize primary ambulance 🚑 responses to all primary calls of any nature RTAs inclusive.
A sound EMS system just like Fire and RTSA seemed far fetched in our country but assure you with the availability of human resource, it's actually not far fetched.
In Summary
To the drivers always apply the 10 basic rules as taught during your training
To the stake holders let's do our honest part to safeguard the beloved of this country.
Zambia will be great if we work together.
Condolences the affected.
