What is vaginal candidiasis?

This a yeast infection caused by candida albicans

It is more common in immune compromised or those with chronic illnesses such diabetes

Symptoms: most common is a whitish vaginal discharge and itchiness

How to prevent vaginal candidiasis;

1) Put on underwear that allows passage of air. Keep yourself dry. Cotton is the best.

2) Avoid wearing tight clothes. Keep yourself dry

3) Avoid using chemicals to clean your private part. You need the good bacteria.

4) Avoid hot tubs. Normal showers are the best.

5) Change out of wet clothes. Keep yourself dry

6) Always wipe from front to back after using the bathroom.

7) When on your period, change your tampons, pads, and panty liners often.

8) Manage chronic illnesses such as diabetes well to keep your immune system functional.

9) Only use antibiotics when it is necessary. Get a prescription

10) Eat food such as yogurt that contains some good bacteria.

3)Sexually transmitted diseases, such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, or trichomoniasis.

4) Cervicitis.

5) Pelvic inflammatory disease.

6) Vaginitis.

7) Cervical cancer

8) Vaginal cancer

9) Vaginal fistula

10) Vaginal atrophy.
