The Pharmaceutical Society of Zambia (PSZ) invites the pharmacy fraternity to a candlelight vigil in honour of the late Pharmacist Victor Phiri, taking place today, from 18:00 to 19:00 hrs, at the Cancer Disease Hospital Car Park.

All pharmacists, interns, and students are welcome to stand with us as we pay tribute to a colleague whose service and dedication touched many.

Please attend in your lab coats, a simple but powerful symbol of our unity, professionalism, and respect.

HOPAZ IN THE NORTHERN PROVINCE

20th September 2024 - The Hospital Pharmacists Association of Zambia (HOPAZ) believes that achieving our vision and mandate for excellence in pharmaceutical care relies heavily on collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

Over the past five days, HOPAZ, in partnership with the Zambia National Public Health Institution (ZNPHI) and PATH, has been involved in capacity-building efforts for the Point Prevalence Survey (PPS) at Kasama General Hospital.

During the visit, HOPAZ took the opportunity to engage with its members, discussing patient-centered care and recognizing the challenges encountered in developing this crucial aspect of healthcare.

As an association, we remain committed to collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure that pharmacists and pharmacy technologists are well-prepared in their quest for excellence in pharmaceutical care.

HOPAZ MAKES CURTESY CALL ON ZAMMSA DIRECTOR GENERAL

6th September, 2024 - In its continuous quest to ensure excellence in pharmaceutical care, The Hospital Pharmacists Association of Zambia-HOPAZ made a Curtesy Call on the Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency Acting Director General Mr Luke Alutuli together with his Director Warehouse Ms Mpande Mukumbwa-mwenechanya, Senior Manager Warehouse Mr Roosevelt Kyanamina and Acting Director Supply Planning Ms Rachel Msimuko to discuss issues partnering to pharmaceutical Supply chain.

The Association was led by its president Mr Lucky Munsaka, Ms Mayamiko Kaoma and Ms Coreen Kaliza.

The meeting focused on
1. the association understanding the operations of ZAMMSA and understanding the challenges it faces in implementing its mandate.
2. upcoming 2nd Annual HOPAZ indaba

As an association we believe that for our able pharmacists and pharmacy technologists to achieve patient Centered care and excellence in pharmaceutical care, a stable pharmaceutical supply system is key. Thus going forward ZAMMSA and HOPAZ will collaborate on various initiatives that will lead to ZAMMSA and HOPAZ achieving their mandates for the benefit of our patients.
