Liangati Mubula Project The Liangati Mubula project aims to utilize Mubula fruits, a local indigenous forest fruit, in
order to improve the community members' livelihoods.

The Liangati Mubula project is a project aiming to utilize Mubula fruits, a local indigenous forest fruit, in
order to improve the livelihood situation of the members of the Liangati Nutrition Group (LNG). The goal is
to valorize these available fruits that are currently mostly going to waste. The fruits shall be processed into
marketable products that can be sold on Zambian formal and informal markets. As a result community
members will have higher income, and this can improve their life and the life of their family members. The
objective of the project is to enable the Liangati Nutrition Group to process and preserve wild fruits,
increase the marketability of such fruits and generate income for the community members.

Liangati Mubula Project has taken the next step. Yesterday members of the Liangati Nutrition Group gathered and we tested three different fruits, such as Mubula, Mahuluhulu and Muzauli.
The Mix of Mubula and Mahuluhulu was most favoured, with A mix of all three coming second.
On Thursday we will proceed to Lusaka and develop the perfect mix and recipe. Today, tomorrow and Wednesday we are collecting the fruits we need for this and prepare the trip.
Be ready for a Vitamin C loaden drink or jam, which will contain antioxidants. There is more to come, we are just getting started.
This for you. We are right now waiting for Her Royal Higness Litunga Iya Mboela to receive the Liangati Nutrition Group Members, the area chief, Matilda and me.
Stay posted and be prepared to meet us in Lusaka at Foxdale Shopping Complex (11./12. October), Centro Kabulonga Mall (13. October) and Cosmopolitan Mall (14. October). On 14. October join us as well at Modzi Arts Cultural Center in the evening.

Yesterday, Matilda, Bridget and I went on our route of courtesy calls. We saw the Council Secretary of Senanga District, because the District commissioner was on a duty trip to Lusaka.
Thereafter we embarked to see Her Royal Highness Litunga lya Mboela. 20km drive through deep sand across the Zambezi Plains, a boat trip across the mighty Zambezi and a 2km walk took us there. We are now good to start the work in Liangati, though, we have to go again to see the Chieftainess on Monday. Therefore, we already start off today for Liangati. Have a look at the footage from the trip yesterday.

PPS Office in Mongu/Western Province
We discussed the next steps of the Programme. Tomorrow we start off at early morning (6:00) for courtesy visits to the District Commissioner in Senanga and Her Royal Highness Litunga lya Mboela.
We will have to cross the mighty Zambezi river by boat. I am quite excited and happy the water levels are rather low at the moment.
The mission has started.
